Any advice for working at Prince of Wales Private, moving from Scotland
Hi, Yeah the rents are expensive. I looked at appartments on the www.domain.au website. There was loads in Randwick but saying that there are probably going to be loads wanting them by time I get over there in December. I've been told that the agencies want to see a lot of documents. Is it just the usual, references, letter from employer, passport, anything else? Hopefully I'll get somewhere near the beach. Everyone says Randwick is a nice area to live and close to everything. :coollook:I've had my own place for so long I think my boyfriend is the only one that just manages to live with me, don't think anyone else could! So renting a room is out of the question.

Still abit worried about working for private hosp as ive been used to dr's always being on the ward in public hosps. Its been a year and a half since I last worked in a hosp which isnt doing my confidence any good. Hoping that after my first week all my nerves have been forgotten about. Any advice for working at Prince of Wales Private, moving from Scotland
Hi thanks heaps for all your advice, I've asked that agency what ward I will be working in as I prefer surgical GI. I was told surgical GI or Orthopeadics. I'm going to ask again if they can tell me which one exactly as I'm planning on being there for December. Waiting for my visa. I'm quite nervous already as its been a year since working in a hospital. Is there a good orientation programme? I've been told I get two days. I cant wait. Everyone here have had enough of me going on and on and on about Sydney. Its seems that the whole planning of this has taking ages. I've heard its hard getting accommodation especially in December. Ive looked at some flats, can be expensive A! Thanks loads tho for any advice.:coollook:

Hi all, I'm moving from Scotland at the end of the year to start in a surgical ward at POW Private Hosp. I'm just looking for anyone who has worked there or knows of anything about the hospital. I've only worked in public hospitals and i'm getting a bit scared especially after being told that there isn't always medical staff around. Another thing does anyone know how easy it is renting a place in Randwick,Sydney? Actually any advice about Sydney and POW would be great. Cant wait to get there, its freezin here.

travelling and living in bondi
Hi there, Thanks for your message. I remember your last message and I contacted the forum but they told me that they only did minimum 6 months leases. I would like to have lived there but it was too expensive and I didn't want to sign a 6 month lease until I had looked around Sydney first. Thanks for your help. Very much appreciated.....:wink2:

Moving to Sydney Soon and need some advice!
Hi there, I'm moving to sydney from Scotland at the of August. I'm going :pon my own by the sponsorhsip visa. I have a contract with Royal North Shore Hospital, I went through an agency but I wish I contacted the hospital myself as I wasn't given much help from the agency. Finding accommodation in north sydney is difficult and expensive and I didn't realise how far the hospital was from bondi beach area. Now I have signed my contract I'm stuck but saying all this I just can't wait to get there and hopefully everything will fall into place. Anyhow for you I would contact the hospitals directly and ask them which route is best to go on finding work. With the work and holiday visa I think you can only work at the same hospital for up to 3 months then you have to move to another. I know the agencies can help you find work to do this. The public hospital usually pay more than the private and only some can provide accommodation. There are a lot of hospitals and agencies on the internet. If I were you I would stick to cental Sydney for transport wise. Good luck. Let me know how you get on.

How long will it take? As far as I can see I will have to get a train then ferry then rain again is this correct?
