Greetings, I am a 1991 graduate of EKU's BSN program. Yes, it is very tough, but it is worth it. Getting my nursing degree was the best thing I ever did for myself. You can really be proud of your nursing degree from EKU. It is regarded as one of the top nursing programs in the state. Once you get through it, you can get a job anywhere. Nursing is so broad. If you don't like med/surg, you can go into surgery. If you don't like surgery, you can go into psych, or OB, or Peds and on and on. Most nurses I know are making from 25 to 30 dollars an hour. That is a decent living and the need for nurses will always be there. You cannot go wrong with a career in nursing. Look at yourself as a sponge and soak up everything you possibly can. In the beginning you may ask, how does this apply to nursing? It does. So just learn it. Soon you will see it all come together and how to apply it to your every day job. The better you learn the beginning basics, the better chance you have being successful with the next degree. And, it is like a tattoo, once you have one you want another one. (degree). HA!
