  7. So how common are nursing Unions?

I was told that since we are a Right To Work State (also right to get fired) that Unions are discourged. I work for Sentara and even without a Union, things are pretty good. Good pay, benifits, great ways to channel you complaints or problems. RW

This is a good thing for the college on paper too. It makes their stat's look very good and I am sure they use this to their advantage like they are graduating numerous LPN's. I would not like it either. RW

I work as an ER Tech II (Paramedic) while I am in nursing school. We are the ones that sit with the psychs on 1:1 in the ER where I work. It frees the nurses up and since most of us have street experince, we are well used to handling psych patients o...

  23. Setting myself up for trouble?

I fully understand the being pulled at all ends. If you are committed to it and you are willing to make some sacrifices, then go for it. I killed myself with 18cr's and working full time M-F last Spring. I made it through and got further ahead than I...
