  1. HOLY CRAP. I take my NCLEX tomorrow morning! I am scared to death. I am studying on an off, and feel decently prepared. I just want to be done studying and do not feel like i am focusing today. Any suggestions?
  2. But how did you get the 37.5 ml for 750 u??
  3. Can someone give me a grounded formula that will work for all IV problems? I know i just posted one before, but i still do not undertsand the formula. My dosage and calculations book tells me V/T*drip factor=rate I plug this problem in You have a new order for 10000 U Hep. in 500 ml NS to infuse at 750 U/hr. The drop factor is 60/gtt/ml. What is the flow rate in gtt/min. So if i use V/T * drip = rate i get this 500ml/60 minutes * 60gtt/1ml this equals 500 ... that is way too high. What am i doing wrong?
  4. Here i am once again. i do not understand the drip factor stuff. I have an order of Aminophylline 1gm in 500 cc d5w to infuse at 0.5mg/kg/hr for a pt weighing 154. The first question is what is the hourly amt the pt is to receive i got 35 mg/hr Second, how many gtt/min should the IV run if the drop factor is 60gtt/ml. I set it up this way and have gotten an off the wall 8.3 500ml/x = 60gtt/1ml ...that cross multiplies to 500=60x divide 500/60...and i got 8.3. Am i doing this right? :o
  5. Thanks! One of these days i will be an RN. I just have to keep that in my mind. The final goal....only 6 months away....:monkeydance::cheers::w00t:
  6. The test continues on with the EKG reading. Pwave Twave etc. Do you know any websites that is clear and to the point? Oh and Quit arguing LoL:nono::smackingf
  7. Yeah....Its just getting me motivated. I am just stressed out to the T, and dont understand why we have to know this when the pharm does it for us haha. :trout:
  8. AAww. Dont get all touchy. I do agree with you sms, we as student nurses are thought not to know anything. We are belittled at times as well. I dont think it is fair. I believe that it is all a matter of tecnique, its the way you feel most comfortable doing things. I am not going to say which formula i used, but they were all different and i had to choose the one that was the best for me. Now...who wants to take this test for me tomorrow?
  9. I meant to click the thanks but missed you...dont get offended. Dang its just a forum. But do realize you helped me a lot. I just forgot to click the thanks button silly.
  10. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. LoL maybe i will use that tomorrow on the test. Hehe i had an epiphany :)
  11. i never learned the division factor. But it helped me out bunches. We're doing the heart test this time. Its really complicated, all the electrical EKG and all that. BLAHHHH
  12. Thanks guys so much for all of your help. I was really Stuck.
