  1. I was in my first clinical rotation at age 17 in a diploma school about maybe 25 yrs~I was observing in the OR~MY surprise was the patient was talking as they started the surgery! No one talked about anesthesia before this observation. I was torn between telling everyone in the room that the patient was still awake -vrs- keeping quiet. Thank goodness I kept quiet! But I still remember how foolish I felt!
  2. I don't know where you are from or what type of facility this was but you have been given a gift. You did the right thing to leave (you should have left sooner!) You can think about what has happened to you over the years and dwell on it "was it me? was it them?" or you can see this gift for what it is..a chance to explore other options that are out there for you. This time remember that you are entitled to proper orientation and basic peeks that go along with your new position. You need to be your own advocate and investigate what are you actually intitled to where you live (ask your labor board). Look at your state standards of care. Look in your employee handbook- benefits should be outlined there. There are sometimes thoughtless people in high positions that do not make appropriate decisions (the NM that had someone cross off your name) call them on it..simply ask..(example: "NM, my name was crossed off...can you tell me why?") You care in control of your destiny- when He closes a door- He opens a window- look for your window! Good Luck!
