  1. What do you mean by "do i have to be a nurse"? I'm sorry to say but it's kind of non sense! Yes part of going to a nursing program is being smart but that's not it. You have to be dedicated, willing, appreciative, patient and love/respect for the profession (I CAN GO ON AND ON AND ON BUT IT MAY TAKE HOURS). If don't like your profession and your just in it for the money, sooner or later you'll give up and feel lost. Maybe you should think more about that decision that you'll be making. Don't forget to ask yourself if you want a profession that could make a difference! Ask yourself if your willing to sacrifice most of your hobbies/parties/nightouts for a rewarding results. And ask yourself if yourself if you're willing to take care of others and be patient with them. BY THE WAY, YOU'RE RIGHT! SOME NURSING PROGRAM DOESN'T REQUIRE CALCULUS OR SOMETHING BUT. THERE'S MATH IN NURSING! IT'S VERY IMPORTANT IN THIS PROFESSION BECAUSE IT KIND OF SERVE AS A THIN LINE BETWEEN DOING HARM AND DOING GOOD (IN MY OPINION AT LEAST!)
  2. all i can say about your problem is that: NURSING is not an easy major, it require much of your time and effort (you pretty much know all those stuff). But, getting a pretty good grades on your prereq. gives you a little advantage. I said that because you know that these days, NURSE arre in huge demand. It's one of the proffession that offer you a greater job security and satisfaction. The waiting period is pretty much long, maybe the reason why u have to wait for 12 mos. is taht they're only offering the program every fall or spring semester only. Meaning if you didn't get it the first try, you have to wait for the next semester that they'll be accepting application. Nursing program are very very competitive, hundreds of students are applying each time (im pretty sure about that) and they'll be accepting only around 50-70 applicants so its kind of tough! Well, just hang in there and sooner or later you'll get in before you know it.
