I had plenty of non-nursing work experience; but don't think non-work experience plays a big role in getting hired, but couldn't hurt.

Well I had an instructor named Mrs. ***** and she was very intimidating at first but once she got to know the class and we got to know her personality she turned out to be a cool teacher. Just don't goof off or take advantage of her and things will be fine. Like most schools/class being on time is always expected. I found a full time job 1 month after i revived my state license. Good luck and just stay focused.

I did not have to be "attracted" to study nursing so to say. I have always found science interesting and have always found myself watching those "reality" medical shows, Trauma in the ER, on TV as long as I can remember.

I suppose it is more than meets my eye. Would it be as simple as just having malpractice insurance? Sounds like there is still more risk that ought weighs benefit..

Wow I can see I'm a rookie to this. Not sure if they will hire me as an employee or if that is their intent, I will ask these questions. I do not have malpractice insurance and did not think about the risks involved either! thank you for the heads up.

I'm LVN licensed and found an add looking for a LVN who can do house visit, Assisted Living house 6 bed, for insulin tx. The facility is just starting this service and is asking how much I should charge per house visit or injection. Please advise any opinions or experience.

Sorry to hear that, but yes I'm very thankful. I've been reading the LVN section about how new grads can't find work so that had me worried. If you do move to SD area my classmate found work at a home health agency that is very new grad friendly. Let me know and I can find out more info.

Thanks; My path to reach this point in life defiantly needed some positive luck. It has not been a fun or easy path at all.

I was very upset that state boards lagged on my license, I waited 3 more months than classmates. I received my license on Jan 6th and started applying for work asap; I applied online and in person. Two weeks later I got an e-mail reply from I medical facility I applied to via monster.com. The RN manager had me call her and we set up an interview. The interview went well and she was happy I was a new grad, no bad habits to deal with. Three days Later I get a call from her offering me the job! The pay starts at $20.06/hr; much better than the $12.75 I'm getting paid. Meeting up the their HR department to finalize some paperwork and then putting in my two week notice tomorrow. I guess all the waiting and frustration of not getting my license on time was worth the wait. I still cannot believe how quick I got a nursing offer.

OMG state board is so hard to get in contact with, it a joke. Was on hold for 40 min and I decided to hang up. I have e-mailed them with no response.. Thank you

I was approved for a LVN license in CA this past december. I sent the payment, check, and the required signed forms via fedex certified mail. It arrived at sacramento December 20th, check still has not been cashed. How Long do you think before check is processed and my license is posted online? I want to look for work already!

I have been waiting as well. Got a letter from bvnpt set. 2010 stating I passed nclex but is pending for further investigation on my case, ticket for underage drinking 8 years ago. Just called my tech. this morning and she said my license is in the final process and to call at the end of the month, so much waiting! I would be so ****** off if denied because a classmate with a DUI already received her license! I think it's **** **** that someone with a DUI for can get their license before someone for a ticket for underage drinking, damn bottle 3/4 full.....

So I received a letter from BVNPT stating I passed the NCLEX-PN exam and they and still reviewing my conviction record and license will be delayed, received letter September 9th. I have been calling the technician for any updates on my license and said to call back in 60 days! I very worried that my ticket for drinking underage, when I was 18 over 8 years ago, will prevent me from getting a license . When I tried to provide BVNPT with a certified court paper on the incident it was no longer filled with the court record, provided BVNPT with a certified letter that its no longer in the system and no record available. I just find it weird because I had other classmates who had recent DUI convictions who already are in the system and can be verified of their license status online! I know my ticket is no where near as serious as a DUI! Anyone have any idea why I would be help back so long? Monday will be 60 days so I will give them a call tomorrow. Its just so frustrating; I want to get a license and start job hunting already! I'm losing faith I will get licensed.

Hi there, I went to North-West College in Riverside, off of La sierra st.. It was around $28 thousand. I was lucky enough to get government grants that dropped it to around $16K. Congratz!!! Did you do quick results? According to PVT it was saying you passed as well right?

Logged onto my accout anc it said this: "Your Board of Nursing does not participate in the Quick Results Service" I guess I'll have to wait.

What do you mean? Why Sunday?

Just took the test on Monday, test stopped at 85. Was a little difficult but none of the questions were anything new just different. Any way I could find out the results ahead of mailed results? Ive heard if you try to re-register online and if it lets you re-register a date you failed, but if it won't let you re-register you passed. Any truth behind this?

Thanks for the feedback. I assumed the employer only cared about the licence, since thats what matters.
