  1. What does your hospital give as a "gift" to the parents? My hospital is considering changing and we need new ideas! Halo sleep sack and celebration meal are our current "gifts". I need lots of ideas.

    Regarding foleys...a lot of our patients can void on bedpans and this sure seems better than irritating a urethra. We give the patients an opportunity to try. I'd say 40% can void on the bedpan! Most doctors will allow a foley until it's time to push. Also, different hospitals use different meds for their epidurals which will make a difference in the patients ability to move and void.
