  1. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THE MED-SURG FLOOR. The SICU is a better place to learn your skills. Just be diligent, study and ASK QUESTIONS from the nurses who have been there a while. You will thank yourself later for joining the SICU and will like nursing much more there. GOOD LUCK!
  2. I graduated from nursing school and went right into the OR and worked there for 3 years. I learned many things in to OR like, How to deal with the surgeons, Critial thinking skills, prioritizing skills, and what the surgeries were and how long they are and what is done in surgery do. I had no trouble moving to an ICU and once again learning an emence amount and loving it. It is not mundane to be a ICU nurse. It is very fast paced and challengeing. The OR and the ICU are two different worlds and I love both of them. I current work full time ICU and PRN in the OR ,which is a bonus for some extra cash flow! I have found that my OR experience has helped me with my skills as a ICU nurse. MY VOTE do the OR and then move to the ICU the longer you are a nurse the better your CRNA applications look anyway. GOOD LUCK!
  3. Can any of you shed some light on the interview process at Mount Marty? I have an interview on the 23rd of this month with them and have been unable to find any information on what to expect from the interview. THANKS FOR THE HELP.
  4. Hi there! Yes, I have heard a lot about Mt Marty! I have talked with the Director of the program and I have talked to graduates from Mt. Marty. I was highly impressed by the answers to my questions from the director. I was also impressed that all of the graduates had nothing but good things to say about the program and the experience that they got during the program. The CRNA's I talked to also stated that they felt more then prepared to pass boards. I hope this helps! As for the essay I ended up doing the samething by keeping it as simple as possible. AMY
  5. I was just wondering if anyone had any possible suggestions to the enterance essay questions that Mt Marty want you to write. It is not like the others and so I thought I would ask if any of their students had any ideas of how to go about it.
