The health system in which I am employed is really eyeballing this rather large ordeal involving professional attire worn by health care workers in clinical situations, mainly focusing on crocs/ clogs with holes on the top portion of the shoes. This issue apparently has become a JCAHO attention grabber with our surveys (mock and real). To implement a plan to change policy to require that health care professionals with anticipated blood and body fluid exposure are to wear shoe covers if wearing crocs with holes and also must have heel straps. What is your opinion on the matter of crocs?
