  1. Congrats on choosing nursing school and hang in there because it can definately get tough at times! Thank you very much for your input and I will see what I can find out about VA jobs! :icon_hug:
  2. Hello all! Though this is my first post on allnurses.com, I am not completely new to the site. I have read through so many forum posts over the past few years and finally joined because I just knew that someone on here might be of help to me. So, here is my predicament: I graduated with my ADN this past May (2007). When I graduated, I was just not ready to accept an RN job right away (my Mom had been very sick plus the final semester of nursing school had completely worn me out) so I took the summer off so that I could start a job with my full focus on my RN duties. Now, I have been applying for about 6 weeks and still have not been offered a position. I had one telephone interview about a week ago but that is it. It seems like alot of hospitals in my area are not hiring new grads right now, though alot of their online application job titles are "New Grad RN." The thing is, I am willing to relocate (not too far away: NC, SC, VA, TN, GA) and I absolutely love the concept of travel nursing, so maybe I am just not looking in the right place or going about this the right way? I don't know, but I am starting to question my entry into the nursing field, when this is all I've ever wanted to do! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
