  1. yes I heard about that. I work at a hospital that gives credit for lpn experience
  2. Its my last semester of nursing school. I'm so.excited!!. I can't stop now got to continue to study till I get that RN! Anyone out here got some tips for the past semester??
  3. I would say 9/10. I work full time (3, 12 hr shifts) and this semester (adult health) is a challenge. There is just so much assignments we have to do. as well as read the chapter, do discussions, and get our patient the day before clinical. it's alot of work but I can tell you it is manageable. Its all about prioritizing your time. I've seen people in my class that don't work at all and they are struggling and one of the main causes is time . I have a calender of what I'm doing everyday and deadlines I need to complete. it helps alot.
  4. 1st semester is Osceola.Campus. 2nd semester I did have to go to Osceola for the first day if orientation but after that it's west campus
  5. for the 1st half of the semester you will take transition to nursing which is like fundamentals. will go to Osceola campus and have lab once a week, you will be checked off on nursing skills. Then once you pass the first half you will take peds and ob. That's when you will start clinicals. once a week. 3 peds and 3 labret delivery rotation. you'll go to class only 2 or 3 times but everything else is online For the 2nd semester which is Adult health. everything is online. you have clinicals once a week and you have to go the day before to pick up your patient.
  6. yes they do send you an email it will be about 4-6 wks after the deadline date. They will let you know if your in or not. if you have any more questions let me know. I'm currently in my second semester. it does get harder each semester so be mentally prepared.
  7. I'm doing ok. I had my first OB/peds exam today. It was a bit challenging. just hoping that I pass..
  8. Thank you for the tips! my biggest challenge is time. there is just so much to know in the short amount
  9. Hello everyone! I'm currently in the LPN to RN program and would like some tips/tricks to studying OB/Peds. This course is intense and very fact paced. I'll be done first week of August. My time is very limited since I work full time. What has helped me last class in Fundamentals is practicing nclex questions and when I when I get in wrong I read the rationale and read the textbook. Anyone have any other tips. I greatly appreciate it!! Thank you
  10. Thank you!. My first exam had about 17 chapters. I tried to read all the chapter but I didn't have time so each chapter I would preview it and look and the back of the chapter and read the key points. it's not about memorization it about understanding the concepts and applying it as a nurse. I would also look at the key words and box in each chapter. Then I would practice doing nclex questions that were related to the topic. the more you practice the more you will think like a nurse. in my program we use evolve adaptive quizzes that correlated to the book. so if I did well on a particular chapter I would go on to anothern subject that I don't understand or is my weakness. Also my program is mostly online and we go to lab once a week .I would pay attention to anytgoing she said that we need to know. That really helped me a lot to decrease the amount of reading I need to do. Hope this helps
  11. Thanks for the advice. I took my first exam this week. it was tough but I passed! I have learned to manage my time and organize. I work 3 hr hour shifts. when it's close to the exam, I use my PTO to get some extra studying done. practicing NCLEX questions alot. it's help improve your critical thinking.
  12. we haven't done care plans yet. clinicals will start in a few wks
  13. it's an all day event. they will do some lecture in lab.
  14. Hi! yes I'm currently in the program. I'm in the LPN to rn prgoram. it's mostly online. lab is every Wednesday. right now we'really learning through foundations of nursing which is condensed to about 12 wks. then after we will have OB/ peds.clinical
