  1. Was the case study difficult? Did you use any books for the case study? What books did you use for the LPN to RN entrance?
  2. I still work a rikers island as an lpn. it is not so bad. as a male, i really don't have any problems yet. if you are interested in working at rikers, the company's name is prison health services (PHS). phs is company that provides medical services to the inmates. the phone number-718.546.5200. i've being working there for about 1 1/2 year. the pay for lpn 1 year experience is 21.00 per hour. the benefits are 1199. good luck.
  3. Thanks but I'll stay here as you said,"there's more traffic here."
  4. i tried to but they said i could not duplicate this thread in another forum.
  5. i am not concerned about the negative aspects of working as or with an AA male nurses. i looking for postive experiences of how much of an impact AA males nurses from past until now. it could personal influences on the community, family, or global. Did it change any type of mental stigma? I understand some never worked with AA male nurses. It is inspiring to here stories about individual experiences.
  6. I want to go into psychiatry as a nurse but my coworkers a re telling me to go into medsurg for one year before going into psych. they explained about going straight into psych would not be as profitable for me and some organizations require the nurse to do a least one year med surg. Is that true? and Why?
  7. ;)I hope this title does not scare anyone away or upset anyone. My goal is to find out how AA male nurses (LPN, ASN, BSN, or NP) deal with various challenges like dealing with female nurses (older or younger) on the floor, dealing with other ethincally diverse population of male nurses and doctors, racism if any on the floor, differences with wages and work performance, and balancing family time (for the married men with one wife and children). How do you respond and resolve conflict bet. two other coworkers? Bet. you and coworker? I also want to know from other nurses who are not of African-descent their truthful work experience with AA male nurses. THIS IS NOT A DEBATE BET. RACIAL GROUPS OR SHOULD IT START ANY RACIAL BIAS but information on experiences with culturally diverse community of nurses.
