Thanks MB As i already have a bachelors and masters, i keen to actually go for an RN license and then work for few yrs in ICU/critical care before applying for a crna school. I did not find any online schools. I am planning on going to a local college, part-time, as i want to keep my day job for now.

Hi Everyone, I already have a bachelors and a masters in biology/health science and few yrs of experience as a lab tech. I am interested in pursuing a nursing career now. However, I would like to know if there is any way to get an RN license by pursuing the course work online and then doing the clinical component at a local hospital where i live? My primary objective is to become eligible to take the NCLEX exam so that I can get an RN license. I am pretty motivated and can excel at self-directed learning so I think getting through the NCLEX exam will not be a problem. Since I am new to the nursing field, am not sure how to become eligble for the NCLEX-RN exam. I want to pursue any course work component online and get clinical experience at a local hospital mainly because I want to keep my day job so that I can support my family and college!! I dont want to get into more student loan debt than I already have rite now! I would truly appreciate your thoughts on any nationally accredited programs where I may be able to do the course work online and then fulfill their clinical requirement at a local hospital. Bottom line...I want to be eligible for the NCLEX-RN exam so that I can get an RN license and then work in ICU/critical care for few years...before, hopefully, try to get into a CRNA school. Hi Annie, I am also in a similar situation. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Biology/health science. I am also thinking of pursuing an MSN in acute care. I want to continue in my current job though and am thus looking for online MSN acute care courses. Did you find any such courses from good/reputable colleges/universities? Would truly appreciate if you can share some info with me since we both seem to be interested in acute care MSN. Thanks a lot:-)

Hi sunnyjohn, Can you please post whether someone without any nursing background but, with Bachelors and Masters degrees in related (biology, chem, etc) field can actually do an MSN/MN online? Will I be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN once I complete this MSN/MN and get the RN license? I am interested in CRNA and would like to get the RN and then work in critical care for few years before I apply for CRNA school. Do you think a critical care/ICU MSN/MN would be better than other MSNs for someone interested in CRNA but without a Bachelors in Nursing? Thanks a lot.

Hi, Can anyone including CRNA nurses and/or faculty please post whether my chem fails will essentially mean that I cant even dream of ever getting into a CRNA school? I do have an A in pharmacology and biochem. Can I retake the chem class again although I have been out of college for a while now? If i get an A in this, will this in some way convince CRNA directors of my abilities. I was 18 when I went to college and did not really take my first couple of yrs all that seriously...in hindsight i regret it a lot. How can I prove to any CRNA school in the country that I am a serious student now than when I was 18/19. Any thoughts from you all will help me a lot. I have shadowed a CRNA once and I became extremely interested in the subject and what they do. Thus my decision to get into nursing. I am not sure if I will have a shot at at least being eligible to apply for CRNA school with my past fail history in chem and couple of genetics courses (although I am not worried about this because I went on to do my MS in Genetics (that's rite!) at a reputable college and graduated with a 3.75 GPA. I would like to know whether I am being unrealistic in even considering CRNA with my past history of chem Fs? Thanks a lot.

Yes Jerico, although I could have opted not to continue and taken soe other course instead of chem, i just wanted to prove to myself that I CAN do it. Also, for got to mention that I have an A in biochem also.
