  1. Help - I will graduate in Dec 07. Considering a position on a busy Oncology floor. Great bunch to work with. I preceptored in this dept. Lots to know, huge learning curve, but I seemed to handle it all well. Am I biting off too much too soon? Any advice you have would be appreciated?
  2. I used Saunder's study guide for PN's , felt prepared to test. I took it 1 yr ago- seemed to be lots of questions on prioritization. Good luck , I'm sure you'll do well! I'll say a little pray for you!
  3. I transitioned as an LPN to RN, I have approx 10 weeks left to go! The work and clinicals were not difficult for me. Most things review with more depth. The part that was hard for me was coming into a group a RN students during their third semester. Our transition program is for LPN's and Paramedics - class was definately divided. The existing class wanted nothing to do with us. Pretty much bugged we were even there. Felt it from the instructors as well! Not all of them were on board with the how whole transition thing-made it extremely diffucult. I felt I constantly had to lay low Hopefully you won't have to deal with this. Don't be afraid of the work - you're soo ahead of the game in that area! Good Luck !
  4. Yes this is normal- hang in there! Things will get better. It seemed like the beginning and end of each semester got crazy - things mellowed out in between. I'm in my last semester of the RN program and i still have to talk myself into it somedays! Always keep the end in mind-your nursing degree. This quote has helped me on many days- maybe it will help you. The opportunities that you run away from will not likely come back again. You'll be left wondering what could have been, and regretting that you let something of great value slip through your hands. Seizing a valuable opportunity takes effort, commitment, sacrifice, discipline, and the willingness to move beyond your comfort zone. The payoff for all that, however, can truly be enormous and will certainly lead to ever bigger opportunities. What a shame it would be to miss out on the best that life can offer just so you can avoid a little discomfort. Choose to enthusiastically seize the opportunities that come your way. Ralph Marston Keep moving forward!
