  1. I just read your post, what a horror story! Im not sure if this is helpful, but your might want to start by looking regularly on Craigslist.com under health, for RN positions which post daily, and then emailing your resume in. At this website, which I find very helpful, you can find short and long term RN jobs, and even post your own ad, for free, stating that you would work as a private duty nurse for a private pay patient. Try personally contacting and/or applying via website, for rn jobs with national franchise companies, such as right at home, home helpers, visiting Angels, etc. You might have to consider applying directly for a Certfied nursing assistant job, check with your state board about process if you are already a licensed nurse, and work as a CNA. NETWORK. Once you get your foot in the door, and prove yourself, you would be one step closer to getting an RN job if one becomes available. Long term care facilities, such as skilled nursing places are a great place to start; but first apply as an RN. Word of caution...be careful how you explain your situation to a potential employer, if at all. May need to consult with a professional recruiter on how you explain your circumstance in interviews. Hope this info was helpful, Good luck!!!
  2. I don't think PAs even have to deal with insurance since they're work directly with physicians. I don't believe they are independant. NPs on the other hand are independent (short of a doctor's agreement), therefore they have to deal with insurance agencies.
  3. I applied for endorsement end of feb 2009 and it came through last just week; I picked up application in person and hand delivered everything back in person. Good Luck!!!
  4. I am a new grad and new to the DC/MD area; I find that hospitals look favorable to new grads with prior icu exp obtained while still in nursing school or shortly thereafter. These positions are very competitive and fill fast. At a recent nursing job fair, hospital recruiters informed me that they first fill there icu slots with new grads who worked as nursing externs at their particular hospital, then look to nursing students who worked as externs at other hospitals, but unfortunately most positions fill up before they get to the second batch of nursing students. Also, I find that students apply for these positions way way in advance of graduation, because they have been working as an student extern ( which is very popular in this region) all through out nursing school. I hope this helps.
  5. There are a lot of home care companies that hire lpns; also assisted living facilities. I believe Bayada is currently hiring Lpns for assisted living facility. pm me for addt'l info. Good luck in your search.
  6. Congradulations:balloons:
  7. i found it...i'm using the 3rd ed. using the cd, if you first click on exam/study mode, then content area, then category-prioritization& delegation you can take a full-length 100 question exam just on this topic alone.
  8. I have the saunders book and cd and I only found one quiz on prioritization and delegation that only had 10 practice questions. Are there more of these questions on the cd?, if so, under what section would i find them?
  9. Yes, I noticed it; esp the critical thinking questions. Maybe because it only serves to reinforce other info just incase nclex ask questions outside of those focused on the pp.
  10. I also have been waiting to read what other who have already taken the nclex have to say about focusing mainly on the PP in saunders. I am studying saunders. I first take the exam, then focus on the pp regardless if i score 75% or not.
  11. you are simply amazing:balloons:...thanks soooooooooooo much.
  12. Just curious...have to check on you guys, because u might need a woman's insight on different matters specific to men.Just call me big Sis.lol
  13. Stay positive. I agree with the previous comment, just because you didnt answer the last few questions correctly doesnt mean you failed. What counts it how you did overall. Remember almost everyone walks away feeling as if they failed.
