With three weeks left of my first block of nursing, clinicals went like this: 11 weeks: med/surg, endo, resp, wound center, the OR, hospice. We started with assessments, then went on to add NG tubes, foley cathetars, IV starts and DC's, medication administration. The medical floor is where we did all our patient cares, and the rest of the floors were mainly to observe and see if its an area you are interested in working someday.

I hadn't taken chemistry for three years so I got an 84 in that portion... I really think if you study the HESI study guide, you will do well. Do you have that? I had to take all the portions but the Chemistry and Biology portions don't apply to my admitance so I didn't study them all that well. I got the 84 in Chem, and I got a 94 in Biology. Biology is one of my favorite subjects. They asked a lot of questions on the organelles, a few on ATP and aerobic and anaerobic respiration. I believe they asked on the 5 classifications of life as well. The study guide covers it all. I highly recommend learning the study guide well. My offer still stands to mail it to anyone who would like a copy.

I had that question too! I was just using that as an example..... meaning if you know everything the study guide covers, u will do fine.

Just be sure you know the study guide well... so like when it says know the glands...really know them. and what they secrete...etc.

Our nursing school requires you to take all the portions.. english, reading vocab, biology, chemistry, a and p and math... it took 2 hours 20 minutes to finish all 7 tests. Do you have the HESI study guide? The math comes straight from it, the grammar is basic to anyone who speaks english well, the a and p was very general. Know your planes, glands, bones, a little circulatory, blood content, reproductive.... study questions in the study guide were actually in my HESI test. Know math conversions in gallons, ounces, metric to english, roman numerals... the HESI study guide really covers everything if you really know it all well. I would be happy to mail my guide to anyone willing to pay postage.

Hi, I am new to the community and happy to find others who are the same boat. I just took my HESI today...all pre-reqs done..just need to finish the CNA and I'm ready to apply to the program. I just wanted to say the HESI wasn't as horrible as I expected! I got a 91 I used the study guide alone to prepare.
