Anybody admitted to RN-BSN at Rutgers?
Hi, I have been admitted to RN-BSN at Rutgers-Newark. They sent me the notification about 3 weeks ago. Since then, I haven't heard anything from them. I really want to find out my transfer credit and summer session info. I have tried callling nursing campus and it's hard to reach them. I know they have general ed requirement which include literature and anthropology and i would like to take it during the summer at local community college. If I really want to take it this summer, i should apply local community school now and register for those classes. Did I choose the right school???? if anybody knows about what's going on with them, please let me know.

How to deal with it?
Hello, I am a new grad nurse who recently received a job offer one of the hospitals in new york city. The manager of my unit called me last week and said she has to give this opportunity to the candidate who applied internally (obviously that nurse applied later than me) because the nurse has been there for 15 years and she is afraid that she is going to fight for the position (union). I called the recruiter and she told me that she is going to find out what exactly happened and called me back. Several days without getting a call back from her, I called her and asked. She told me that she now knows what happened and she told me that she is going find another position for me. I waited and called her this afternoon, she was so rude to me and told me to call her back around 5 pm. I called her around 5 o' clock and of course, she didn't answer the phone! I am so discouraged at this moment because I waited so long for this position after another offer has been turned down due to hiring freeze in this area. Any comment is appreciated.

Totally stuck!!!
Hi, I am a new grad nurse who recently moved to NYC from westcoast. I have been searching for jobs and had really hard time finding positions for new grad. Almost 2 months spending for job searching, I have been offered positions from 3 hospitals. I really liked the one at the very last moment (2 weeks ago), and decided to take that one. I stopped the hiring processes from the previous offers and the nurse manager from the last hospital (that I decided to go) sent my paper work to HR. I was expecting to start my job next week in that hospital. HR hadn't called me so I called them today. I wasn't able to hold of HR personnel but only talked to the nurse manager's secretary. She was saying that at that time she was offering me a position, there was opening and still position is available. However, the hospital has been hiring a lot of people recently, so there is money issue involved and HR denies to hire more people and my file is may be on hold. BECAUSE of this position, I rejected other hospitals' offer and now have no where else to go, but here. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? I really want this job, in my sense, it is not acceptable. The secretary told me that the position will be available (maybe) again next month but not guaranteed and she doesn't know it/ not sure and the best way is to contact HR for more info. I really don't know how to handle this. I am really depressed and feel like I AM AN IDIOT. Any input is welcome. Thank you

Please, help me to get a job!
Hi, I am a new grad who is desperately needing a job now. I took a break during the summer and all jobs were gone after I came back from trip. I relocated and now in New York area. I am an ADN and had two interviews so far. I got one job offer from hospital that would be a my last choice. So, I am attending career fair on Friday. I need some tips from you guys. How do I make good impression during job fair? Should I answer briefly? I am an ESL and do not like to talk a lot. It is my negative point. For example, If the interviewer asks me, "What are your strengths?" I just answer, "My Strengths are _______." That's it. How did all you guys respond with that kind of questions? With specific example? If an interviewer asks me behavior questions like how did you react to ---? I elaborate the answers. but I really can't elaborate the simple questions. What do you guys think?

Dialysis nurs vs keep searching
Hi, I am a new grad RN and just got a job offer as a dialysis nurse. I have wanted to work in nephrology unit as a staff nurse and enjoyed working with nephro-related patients. I have applied as a nephrology staff nurse but haven't heard from anything from yet. Things I really like about dialysis nurse is that I enjoyed working with kidney related patients, pay is great and perfect schedule. But one thing I am really worried about is I feel like I am never be able to be a floor nurse since I am a new grad. I really haven't thought about being a dialysis nurse but I believe I will love it. What do you think? Any dialysis nurse ever go back to floor nurse? THank you all! :balloons:

My chance of being hired?
Hi, all I just graduated nursing school in June and passed NCLEX a week ago. First of all, I made a mistake of not applying early enough. Most of nursing grad positions are closed and I am now waiting for one position for reply. Currently, I am thinking about moving to east coast and have been searching for jobs in New York and New Jersey areas. I found several new grad positions in well known hospitals and am ready to apply. I don't have nurse tech experience but have some nursing assistant experience with strong volunteer experience which is health care related. The thing I am concerned is that I am an RN with Associate Degree. Even though my college is well known with good reputation in this area, I believe that it is my weakness; they mention that they prefer BSN. Is it worth to try?
