  1. what you are experiencing is happening everywhere. You need to be open to different types of nursing. I graduated May 09 and have not been able to work in a hospital setting which is my preference. I have tried nursing homes and now I am in an assisted living as the Wellness Director and I enjoy it although it is a very stressfull jobs but it is nursing in its own way.
  2. atlanta is now saturated with new RN grads, I would suggest that you move somewhere else instead of Atlanta. I am a new RN grad living in atlanta, I have graduated since May 09 passed my NCLEX since August and I am still without a job. At this time even nursing homes are not giving new grads a chance. If you still want to move makes sure you applied around february for a residency program otherwise you would have to wait until next feb to be able to apply again as most of the hospitals in Atlanta only accept new grads through their residency programs only once a year.
  3. You and I are in the same boat. In Atlanta, Ga most of the hospitals are not hiring new grad until March 2010. I have graduated since May and passed my board in August. Any advise will be appreciated.
  4. May be you can coach me on what to expect at interviews. I am a new grad, went for an interview last week which was a disaster in my opinion. Please share some of the questions asked and some of the way you answered them.
  5. I wish I were a NA b/c as a new grad since May and now licensed, it does not seem that I am going to get a job soon in Atlanta, GA.
  6. I have several questions. Anyone who knows the answers can post them 1) why is anesthesia reduced with age? 2) what are the criterias that must be metbefore a postoperative client can be given fluids? 3) why the elderly are a a higher risk of complications from anesthesia because of biologic changes that occur in later life?
  7. Next fall I will start my med surg clinical. I have such a fear and I don't know how to explain. Can anyone give me any pointers on what to do on my three weeks break before class start for the fall in order to be ready for Med Surg. What is important to know as far as preparation? Please help me, I am so fricked out I don't what to do.
