  1. I realize that I will have to stabilize and take care of my patients, I did not mean it they way it sounded, I was trying to paint the picture of a small hospital...And I am going to this new position in a starting over attitude, and I love to learn new things, and never have or will I say that phrase, "I am not a new nurse"! And yep they told me I can be on orientation as long as I needed, not forever of course, but until I felt comfortable! Thanks Cindy
  2. I have been working as a LPN on a med/surg floor for 8 years and I recently became a RN this month and was asked to take a job in the ER, I want to learn the ER part of nursing and accepted this position. Can anyone tell me the do's and don'ts in the ER.....Especially the big No, No's here? I am nervous about the transition, but I have been in my "safe" place and with a new "title" I want a change. It is a very small hospital and I know all the staff and everything really bad gets transferred anyway, any advice? Cindy

Our hospital was owned by CHS for maybe 2 yrs, they didn't last very long if you know what I mean, the hospital is in worse shape than ever now. And the benefits, (WHAT BENEFITS) !
  4. I recently took Hesi in Oct 07 passed with 860, then I just passed NCLEX this week with 75 questions...I believe NCLEX was much worse than HESI, NCLEX questions were simple and didn't give you many clues as HESI was more like case scenerios, like the comprehensive books..NCLEX was much worse to me! I had no idea I passed until I seen it on the computer. Good Luck
  5. My suggestion would be to find a study guide that has alot of select all that apply questions, and prioritizing(spelling?) and delegation questions. And know your labs!! Cindy
  6. I just finished taking boards this a.m., And I can tell you it is nothing like the cd's or books. I did really well with the questions at home, but now I feel very stupid, as if I haven't even went to school at all. Or even been a LPN for 9 years. I had ALOT of select all that apply and prioritize, that was half of my exam it seems like.....Pure torture!! Cindy
