Hi, I initially got registered in CA but didn't work there not even one day. Because we live in kansas, i got registered in kansas board & working since 1 year. We don't have any plan to move to CA & work there. But my RN license from CA will get expired in june 2009. Since CA is my primary state os registration, for any reference like hospitals, universities or to register in another state they are asking to send a letter from CA but not from CA. Now please tell me do i need to renew my CA RN License for future purposes. or is there any other choice? or if i request CA board to keep my license at inactive status, and if i need any reference from CA will they able to do that since i'm on inactive status? in future if i want to work in CA how to reactivate my license?do i need to pay the renewal fee again? Otherwise if i don't renew or inactivate my license on june 2009 what will happen? can i get any endorsement form or references from CA board in my future? please kindly answer my questions. Hi Hema, I came to know from this site that you are residing in california. could you please give me some info about the agency nursing at san diego(if you are aware) & bay area. Bay area means is that at san diego or some whereelse? i really don't know about CA area.That's why i'm asking so many ?s. If you could give some details about the best hospitals & agency to work at san diego or bay area will be appreciated. Are you staying there for a long time? could you tell me where are some safe as well as offordable places at CA esply san diego? How much a nurse with 6-7 yrs experience can expect to ask(pay rate) their employer(tell me atleast approximately please......) & also some good agencies & their pay rates? please give me as much as info possible by you. thanks in advance. Hi everybody, I'm a RN with 6+ years of experience(6 years Neuro ICU(INDIA+UK), 4 Months(USA) Neonatal ICU experience). You may wonder why i moved NICU. Because it's my dream job. Currently i'm working at one of the hospital in Kansas & planning to move to CA (either San diego or San francisco-don't know yet) because of my husband's job & the weather. I'm working with my visa (EAD card) ,getting $27/hr now. Since we don't know anything about CA , I request you to kindly answer my questions. 1.could you please list some of the hospitals where can i get NICU jobs with appropriate pay & benefits?(both San diego & San francisco) 2.Nice, safe, cheaper(affordable) place to live in CA? 3.I'm pregnant (3 months) is that difficult to get a job because of this reason?when i move to CA, it'll be my 5th month. 4.Is there any hospitals that provide relocation allowance? 5.How much should i ask my employer to pay me per hour?which is appropriate for my years of experience? Please answer my question as much as you can. If you could add any other info will be appreciated. I did post this in oter thread but there is no reply. So i'm putting here,at least ome NICU nurses wil help. If you could tell me which hospitals are good(for NICU) to work either in san diego or san francisco that will be great. I got a job offer from a HCA hospital, since i have read many threads from NCLEX-RN forum,i'm not happy to work there.They have said that they are going to pay me $23/hr for the first month & then $27,no yearly bonus,no contract,if i do nights extra $3/hr,weekends $2/hr,there may be increament in salary after one year depending on my performance, 2 weeks paid vacation/year (but i have to request in advance). Is this good or bad? What is your suggestion for me? do you want me to wait & attend the KU med interview or join in that HCA hospital for this rate? I got six years of Neuro ICU experience. Is this a good rate for my experience? Could you please tell how much /hr can i expect with 6 years experience & what are the other things i should ask the employer? Thanks Lilly.

When i tried to apply for online job in KU Med website, they are asking for BLS certification.I got one from my last employer,but it expired(i hope it should be updated every year). So if i want to work in KU Med Hospital, do i need to get one or can i use the one i got now? Please reply. So that i can get a new one before my interview. Can you tell me what should i ask the employer on my interview day because this is my first time i'm gonna work in USA & i really don't know about the basic salary for my years of experience. How much i should ask them? What are the benefits they provide normally? & what are the benefits really we need & choose? Could you please clarify me those doubts? & if you know please tell me the nurse, patient ratio in KU Med Neuro ICU & the shifts? When you got time please answer my questions. Hi Knarfks, Thank you so much for your reply. I would like to work in both KU & St.Luke's. But i would like to do my CRNA in future. Could you please share your ideas whether any of these facilities will support their staff with their further education? Because i hope since KU is an university hospital, they will help their staff? There are many hospitals in KC like menorah medical center, St.Luke's, KU med, St.Joseph,etc., I want to know which is best hospital to choose in the aspect of nurse-patient ratio , salary & benefits. I also would like to get some details about Trumen hospital & HCA Hospitals & also why many people in this thread are giving bad opinion about HCA hospitals , is there any strong reasons? what about their pay & benefits? is that very low? I'm new to kansas & also to US, so please guide me to choose a good work place with best job satisfaction, salary & benefits. I PASSED....I PASSED ..........I PASSED my NCLEX-RN after a long waiting (I took my nclex-rn on 08/02/07 & today i got my name on CA BON website. Everything because of God. Hi Suzanne4, I'm an overseas nurse,but residing at kansas in USA & don't have SSN. I took my NCLEX-RN on Aug 2rd 2007 (CA BON) at Kansas & ran out of time @ 226Q. still i haven't got my results. When i called CA BON, they said that they have mailed my results on 15th & ask me to wait until 8/30/07. But i just want to write and get some soothing words from you. Even when i tried to concentrate on some other things, i'm not able to do. Sometime i think i passed,but again i feel that i failed that's why my mail is getting delay. Please write something. Hi, Congratulations:balloons:.Are you residing in CA. Because i took my test on 2nd of Aug still waiting for my results since i don't have SSN. I'm staying at Kansas. I found from one of the thread here if you passed, you will get a small letter in a short period of time & if you don't , will receive a large envelop after a long time( may be after 3-4 weeks) is that true? I ran out of time at 226 Q. I'm worrying a lot & cann't able to concentrate on anything. Please reply. Thanks Lilly

Hi janina, Thanks for your reply. I know that book costs 500 philippine peso.But the shipping charge is double the amount & they said it's available only in philippine. Do you know any other country where it's available? (Either US or India). And if you know any used book for cheap, please let me know. Hi All, I took my NCLEX-RN on August 2nd 2007 & waiting for my results from CA BON. Since i'm an overseas nurse(but residing in KS), i am not able to check my results online. Today when i rang up CA BON , they said that they already mailed my results 2 days ago. I just want to know how long will the mail take reach kansas? I don't have SSN. Is it possible to check my results online by entering my first & last name? Because they have asked to enter the Lic number or first name, last name,city & county. I did try this. But my name is not there. Does it mean i failed? But i hope that i passed. Please .........write something. I really don't know what to ask you guys. Thanks Lilly
