I've been an LPN in GA for over 20 yrs and have worked in a physician's office most of that time. I haven't worked in the last 2 years due to family illness. Now I want to return to school and get my RN and return to hospital nursing. My question is should I try to get into a bridge program by becoming employed or should I apply for the generic program? I was thinking the generic would be best but after reading posts about how hard it is to get into the generic I'm not sure. How long would I have to be employed as an LPN to meet the requirements for the bridge program? The local hospital won't employ me as an LPN due to the fact that I haven't worked in a hospital in so many years. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
