Recommended books for LPN?
Hey everyone.. I am applying to an LPN program starting in July 08 (this Summer!) I was wondering if anyone could reccomend any books for me to start reading to get me introduced into the LPN field or possibly ahead in some ways. I am very eager in wanting to learn now to help me for when school starts. I know there are lots of books out there but wasn't sure if anyone knew of any. Thanks for the help:D

Nursing and Chronic Back Pain?
Hi everyone, I am interested in nursing and plan on starting LPN school this July (to make sure I enjoy nursing) then I will go for my RN. My only concern is that I was in a car accident last June 2007 and I have chronic back pain now. I have bulging discs in my neck and lumbar region of my back. I want to be a nurse but I am worried that no one will hire me due to my back condition. I am also trying to figure out what are some areas for nursing that would not hurt my back so much. I hear Peds, NICU, school nurse and public health are some options. Does anyone have any other ideas that might help me with my situation? I am trying to not let an injury get in the way of my dreams!! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Central Florida LPN programs?
Hey Central Florida! I live in central florida as well (Lakeland) and I am looking up LPN schools as well. Have you found any good LPN schools near us? I want to go to a good school, not that far away, and with a high passing rate!! Are you set on anywhere? Thanks!!

Question on CNA!
Hello, I am a pre-nursing student at my local community college. I want to make sure nursing is definitley for me so I am wondering if obtaining a CNA license would help me? My only concern is that I was in a car accident last month and I am having back problems as a result of the whiplash. I want to get my foot in the door (and get paid as well) to make sure nursing is for me. My chiropractor said it will take some time for my back to get better. Do CNA's use their back alot? I am afraid if I am a CNA then I could re-injure my back. If being a CNA would not be a great option for me then what other jobs would help me (and I could get paid too) to see if nursing is for me? I know there are many types of nurses who don't have to use their back that much so I am not worried about that.. just worried with starting out as a cna. Thanks for your time and help!!
