  1. i understand that these are not "true" direct entry programs and that all crna programs will require you to work for at least a year first, but i am looking for programs where you can get accepted into the anesthesia program along with the bsn part so that you are gauranteed a spot after that year of work and do not need to start applying again.
  2. i just graduated with a BA and all nursing prereqs and i am looking for direct entry programs where i could earn a bsn and then msn in nurse anesthesia. i am currently looking at columbia's program but would like to find other options due to the competitiveness. does anyone know of other such programs ON THE EAST COAST?
  3. i just graduated with a ba in psychology and all premed classes and was gonna go to medical school. however, i have had a recent change of plans and would like to become a crna. i am looking into columbia's etp program and would like advice from any who are familiar with the program i would like to know exactly how competeitive the etp- crna program is. my gpa is about a 3.5 and there were a couple of premed classes i did not do well in and retook. will this hinder my acceptance? will it make a difference that the classes were premed and not for nursing/heath prof and was therefore much harder? does anyone know what the average gpa (and average science gpa) is of accepted students? also, i would like to know how to improve my application. i just graduated and have not had any experience in the health field really. what kind of experience would they be expecting me to have? any advice on what to do to improve my application? what are my realistic chances of getting in??
