  1. Locolorenso22 and intuition thanks for your stories! Locolorenso, thanks for sharing your fist day of clinical experience! I'm glad you made it through that "bad" day. Your story helps me to see I'm not the only one who's first day of clinical was less then wonderful! Intuition, it appears your prior experience as a PCT really helped you in nursing school! I thought the clinical instructors try to assign the more stable patients however you never truly know what will happen on your shift! Can you describe more about how you found the patient and what you did? I assume you had a nurse or your CI with you in the room who put on the O2. If you were alone and you know a standing order exists for O2 and you can't give it to a patient who is gasping for air, that could lead to a bit of an ethical dilemma. More stories please! I like to see students learn from other students!
  2. Hello all students who have been through a clinical rotation or two. Can you write about any particular clinical days where you learned a lot or an incident that was memorable? New students would like to read about your experiences, good, bad, insightful or funny. Thanks!
  3. Hi Students, I would love to hear from you all about mentoring programs at your school. Do you have a program pairing upper class students with new students? When do get contact info for mentor/men-tee? Before 1st semester? After classes begin? Do they work? What you most like about it. Why it works so well or why,in your opinion why your's doesn't work. Thanks in advance for your answers. Karen
