Kvcc?
Hello, I attend Kellogg CC in Battle Creek. Their waiting list isn't quite as bad as most around your area and it is a very good school. The list is about a year and a half to two years. The pre reqs needed at Kellogg are Intro Algebra, Anatomy, Physiology and Intro to Chemistry. Once I complete the Physiology and Chemistry next semester, then I will be on the list. You could also check into LCC ( Lansing Community College). They don't have a wait list, they base admissions on a point system every year, with a March 1 deadline. Both LCC and Kellogg offer both full time ADN programs as well as part time programs. Hope this helps! Also, JCC in Jackson also admits on a point system, not wait list, I think! Good Luck!!

Relocating to Southeastern Michigan - Help
Hello, There are community colleges that will allow you to complete your LPN here in Michigan. Some are ladder programs that you can build on to complete the RN program, too, if you wish. Where in Southeast Michigan are you thinking of moving to? Washtenaw Community College is in SE Mich.(Ann Arbor, I think?). Lansing Community College is in Lansing, admission is based on points, check their website for details, and there is Jackson Community College. I would go to their websites for admissions details, waitlists, etc. Each school is different as far as requirements and waitlists. There are many more schools out there as well. Baker College is private, but still is very competetive to get into their program. They have several campuses throughout Michigan. I know they have a nursing program in Owosso and Flint. If you aren't moving here until next summer, maybe you could get a head start on your prereqs. Good Luck!!!

quick question
Hello, I attended Baker in Jackson and it went ok, considering I am not good at speaking in front of people! As far as I know, there aren't any other options at Baker. However, I attend Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek and I overheard a classmate say that she took Oral Communication ONLINE, because of her fears of public speaking! I don't know how that would even be possible, but that is what she said. At Baker, I remember we would have a different type of speech or presentation each week. Some, we could read from our notes, some were in small groups in front of the class and the final one was" How to do something". That was nerve racking!!! Luckily my instructor had sympathy for the shy people and everyone did fine. If you do have real concerns about this, you can go to www.kellogg.edu and hit "search for schedules" and hit online options for classes and you will be able to see if you can take Oral Communication online there. Since it would be an online class, driving wouldn't be an issue for you. Good Luck and remember, everyone is a little nervous about speaking in front of the class, but most of the time you'll have your notes with you!
