Hi Katie, I got my job as INfection Control/Staff Dev/Employee Health with no experience as any--Been a nurse since 1993. I LOVE infection control tho. My thoughts are this, are you applying for only larger hospitals? I work at a Critical Access Hospital. My title has more in it because i cover more areas because our hospital only is licensed for 25 beds. I am currently beginning my study for the CIC--on my own. Do you put your stint in Africa on your resume? I think that would speak volumes. It might at least get you into the interview. Let me know how it goes. I hope to eventually move on to a larger hospital once i get my credentials and my MSN. Deb

Hi, I am an RN with an ADN degree. I really would like to bridge RN-MSN. My dilemma is this. I just dont know which way to go. I am in the midst of getting my Infection Control Certification--another year at least of studying. I dont know whether to get my NP or Education with my MSN. I live in the Midwest, and do not know how saturated the market is with NP. And on the other hand, as an Educator, would I make the same money as a NP? Right now as an RN with the role of Infection Control, Staff Development, and Employee health, I make $26/hr. Is it worth the outlay of money? What type of jobs could i get with my MSN and CIC certification. Thanks in advance for any info! deb:bugeyes:
