  1. Hi there. Thanks for you post. It has been very useful. I would say i came up with the same sort of answer, categorising different type of abuse. Any way its nice to have someone out there who makes an effort to answer my question. So thanks again. sam.
  2. Thanks. You have been very nice and helpful. sam.
  3. Thanks so much. A very useful post. Your suggestions very good.
  4. Thanks for your post. a very useful link. I rang the employers to check whether they wanted the portfolio, as it said in invitation. And the answer was yes. So i have to take out some pieces and leave the relavent ones in to show to them such as my reflections, Professional development bits, certificateds etc. sam.
  5. Hi everyone. Have a question in mind to ask. I don't know how i should answer it. See what you think.I am finding it hard as my answer could be very broad. What things would make you feel there is a child protection issue? Looking forward to your responses. Many thanks, sam.
  6. Thanks for your response. I am going to take your advice and ring them to find out if there is any particular documentation they want included in my portfolio. Your help much appreciated. Sam.
  7. Hi everyone. i have a nursing interview nxt week. Been asked to take my portfolio with me. But i think it is too big to take. They want a personal profile. What should it look like and how big should it be? Many thanks, Sam.
  8. Hey guys. I am going for a job interview nxt week. The interview invitation tells me to bring my portfolio, which i think is unnecessary. Then i checked the person specification and in there it says personal profile. What should a personal profile look like for the nursing interview? Sam.
  9. Thanks. Your post has been very useful. I take your comments on board and your suggestion to look at job description. But you have already been a lot of help, as you given me some of the main responsibilities of a staff nurse. So thanks again. Sam.
  10. Thanks guys for taking an interest in this thread.Loved reading your responses. hope I can carry out the role of a newly qualified nurse soon. I have an interview next week.Wish me good luck. Thanks to all, Sam.
  11. Hey everyone. I keep wondering how i would answer this question. I have an interview early next week on a children's general medical ward. I am a newly qualified with no clinical work history. I have worked on this ward as a student nurse so i have some experience. If i was asked this question: What can you bring to this post? Then how should i answer it? Thanks GUYS. You are great i have been getting a lot of help from you. Thanks, Sam.
  12. Hi everyone.I am a newly qualified still waiting to get my first job. What are the challenges you feel are from student nurse to being a qualified nurse? And how you resolved these challenges. Thank you, sam.
  13. Hi everyone.I am a newly qualified children's nurse. I have a question here asking about the role of a band 5 nurse. If i was asked about the role of a staff nurse not specifically band 5, then i would give the 7 main responsibilities of a staff nurse according to NMC.These are: 1.Respecting patient individuality 2. Obtain consent before any treatment 3. Cooperate and work effectively with in MDT to provide best care. 4.Protect patient confidentiality 5.Maintain my professional knowledge and competence: by keeping updated with ward and trust protocols and legislations, advance knowledge by attending courses and study days to improve the care i provide. 6.Be trustworthy 7.Act to identify and minimise risk to patients i.e. Child protection. But how should i answer the question if i am asked about the role of a specifically band 5 children's nurse? Hope someone can help me answer this. Thank you.
  14. hi, thank u for your response. Some of your question i was expecting already. Thanks. Your help much appreciated. sam.
  15. Thank you.I like your answer. I wish i was more specific when answering this at the interview. I was nervous, and my answer was short, though its common sense now when i think about it. Thanks for your response. sam.
