  1. Hi RGN1, yes Salzburg is a nice city but... only in summer and it´s a very small city. You are right, the historic district and the the mountains , the lake district, the Salzburger Festspiele (Salzburg Festival) Berchtesgaden many tourists, churches, banks and insurance companys and the most important - MOZART - yes, everything is Mozart like: Mozartschnitzel, Mozartkugel, Mozartburger, Mozartplace, Mozartbeer, Mozart.....aso. Everything is very expensiv but RN´s are still seeked here either. If you are from a EU country no problem for you to work here. But we have a long and cold winter and this is what I really hate! So you did all the paperwork, I wish I would have done it earlier. So the sands are running out and I have to hurry up. Why did you decide to move to FL? I have been to the "Sunshine State" for one month (June) and it was raining every day but I don´t care because it was only between 11 am and 2 pm and the most important thing - it was a warm rain! I have just began to do all the paperwork, to improve my English and I hope that I will finish all these things in the next 1,5 years! I have no idea how long it will take to be in your position. Michael
  2. Hi Anna, yes FL should be faster this is what I also have read I think it would be the best way of beginning. So I will start with transcripts and translations. I also will look for further FL information and attend an English course. Enough things to do but I think this is the right way! Suzanne: sorry about my german words Akropolis: (now in English), thank you, I have sent you a pm
  3. thank you anna for this thread, it was really very helpful. i decided to move to fl or ca - not because everybody want to live and work there - i have been for one month in ca and one in fl a couple years ago. i know there are a lot of other nice places to go but i have just started my paperwork and many other things will follow soon and i hope i can manage it within the next 1 - 2 years! the most important thing is i am deeply grateful for advice and assistance cu, michael english only per the terms of service of this forum.
  4. Hi Suzanne, thank you for your quick answer, the problem is there are so many threads, so man things to read and you can find a lot of answers but they are allocated on the board. I don´t think that I have to do the CGFNS but some told me that I will need it. 2 months ago I began to improve my english but I there are many things to learn again (had learning english for 13 years in school) I just thought it would be easier to learn and do all the arrangements in a group. Maybe there are one or two Germans or Austrians who decided to move to the US either. But thank you again, I will read the thread you have posted before. Regards, Michael
  5. HELLO everybody, my name´s Mike, I´m from Salzburg - AUSTRIA (RN in Salzburg) and decided to move to the US. I read a lot on different boards about RN in the USA. And it will be long and stony road to do NCLEX, CGFNS, TOEFL, a.s.o., including all the costs :angryfire So maybe it is easier to do this in a group and I will find other nurses from Germany or Austria or Switzerland or ... who decided to move to the US either. I wrote to the California Board of Nursing and the CGFNS organisation (via e-mail) but havn´t got any answer yet. Maybe there is one who can help me/us to do all the arrangements and examinations??? Thank you all, greetings from Salzburg (The town where Mozart was born)
