Sophomore

Hi! I am new to allnurses, and I wanted to say hello and ask a few questions. First of all, I am going to be a Sophomore this upcoming school year, and I have been thinking more about what I want to do in the not-so-far-away-future. I am leaning towards nursing, because I love to help people. Another big plus is the flexible schedules, so if I get married and possible have children later on, I can adjust my schedule to spend more time with my kids. One other major plus is all the oppurtunities and choices I can make about where I want to work, and in what (like pediatrics, labor & delivery, home health, etc.) But I don't know for sure that this is the job for me. What kind of a personality is needed for a nurse? Why did you chose nursing? What can I do to see if this is really the job for me? If I decide to become a nurse, what should I do through out my high school years to prepare myself? Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you!
