  1. Hiya! I'm in an LPN program & I will be starting a 7 week OB rotation at a local hospital for clinicals. They say it's going to be more observation then anything. I just finished clinicals in the nursing home, so it's going to be a BIG change I'm sure. Anything you can suggest I have on hand, always in my pockets, experiences, anything at all to prepare me would be helpful!! Thanks!! :)
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm currently in LPN school. I heard that after I get through my 3rd Foundations course (which I'm in now, will finish in October) I can go take the CNA exam? I work full time in accounting but I was interested in trying to get a job in the health care setting. I can't afford a huge cut in pay, as I depend on just my income but I really feel like the experience will be such a huge benefit. Also working somewhere that offers tuition reimbursment would be awesome, as I'm paying out of pocket for my schooling bc my employer won't support nursing of course as it is not related to my job. I'm just torn about leaving this job because it's the most money I've ever made in my life, it's close to school/home & it's not stressful. My work/school/home life balance is great. I just don't know what to do. So my questions are - Do you recommend I take the CNA exam this early in the game? - Whats the pay like for CNA newbies? - What settings pay the most? Have the best benefits? - Whats the stress level like, for someone who is going to school full time being a CNA? I really appreciate any advice you can give! Thanks :)
  3. I'm currently a fulltime accountant by day, and fulltime LPN student by night. I've been working in this profession since I finished highschool. There was something right about the timing for going back to school for nursing. I really felt like I am at a dead end with this profession. It has it's benefits but I'm left feeling like "what did i really do today?" I want to do more then sit at a computer all day on excel. I want to better myself as a person and actually feel excited & happy about my work, I think the best way for me to do that is to help others. Nursing school is different, challenging and hard hard work. But it is worth it & in the end I will be so happy to wear scrubs everyday to work vs heels, you do not even know! I will be smiling ear to ear when I can walk out at the end of the day & say to myself, you know, I did actually do something meaningful today. I wish you the very very best of luck & success!!
