thanks scotjan, you're right the nmc are a pain husbands application was delayed for 2 months as he hadn't specified north or southern ireland on the form just ireland, and despite the address to send it to being in DUBLIN. have also found it takes the irish bord at least 3 weeks to open correspondence and confirm they have recieved it so i'm thinking they must be very busy at the moment. i also see the HSE is in the process of recruiting 1000 nurses from India so wondering if this is holding things up a bit. So far husband applied back in jan and no word yet although 3 month was due to nmc not knowing where ireland was. anyway fingers crossed will phone again tomorrow to see if any progress!!

Hi Please could anyone give me an idea of how long the average process of obtaining registration in Ireland takes. I'm UK trained and NMC registered. Myself and husband both hit by NHS cuts in the UK and desperate to get to Ireland. We both have job offers there the kids are registered to start school in sept, just the length of time the registration process is taking is stressing us out, beginning to worry we won't be there by Sept. Would appreciate hearing about anyones experience of going through this process. also any comments from those who've moved to Dublin, how are you finding it.

hi i have a telephone interview with the beacon on thurs, so fingers crossed. myself and husband desperate to come to Dublin, both casualties of the UK cuts. Hubbie also trying for the beacon. however our irish registration is taking soooo long to process. anyway glad to read all your positive comments, wish me luck on thursday.
