  1. I'd been in nursing for over 30 years, been in different specialty area . I can look back and most treasure my time in the oncology unit, where if nursing is deep in your heart and soul, that is a place where u can actually give it all out and not feel that its only a laundry list of task. Now I work in a critical care, and its almost hard sometimes to balance the list of task, the hurriedness and the stats. Its almost impossible sometimes to fully expand your time for everyone. I feel like the moment I walk in the unit, I already have a long list of task to do so if I made it through the day and the patient survives inspite of the odds, I have done the duty I was placed there to do. Theres a lot of difficult task that we are expected to do as a nurse and I bow my head for everyone in these profession..
  2. hello everyone, new here . I 'd like anyones opinion on this one. I recently started to work in a new hospital, my BLS was current when I started , I have just recently renewed my ACLS, good for another 2 years. One day I came to work and I was told I can't work that day cause my BLS just expired. I have argued with the nurse educator for a while about it but eventually went home after they found a replacement for me..Not that it was forgotten, I have scheduled to renew it,only the renewal date is 2 weeks after it has expired. Is there a law that says " you can't work if your BLS is expired? What about my ACLS ,doesn't that count ,that I can do basic CPR being certified in it? Do I have to have both to work? Or can I have either or....??? i would appreciate any input about this subject.. Thank you all in advanced...
