Here it goes...
It has been back and forth in my mind thousands of times. I decided that I can be resourceful with the money and time that I have to continue playing with a Worship Band and ministering. I really appreciate all the responses, it really helped me make this decision!!! ~Drew

ICU difficulty
Is it difficult to get a job in the ICU/ER with an ADN? I plan on finishing the ADN and work simultaneously in ICU while earning a BSN. Is it any more difficult to find a job in ICU for ADN than BSN?

I have trouble admitting that I will be a nurse
As I tell my friends/family that I'm switching from music into nursing, I get this puzzled confused look - as though the sun is shining right in their eyes... Then they say something like "well, that's cool" or "what made you want to do that." The only "negative" comments were some of my kid sisters friends questioning my sexuality - but that was pure joking. I think male nurses will have an advantage considering that we are the minority in the field. I wouldn't worry about what others think, though. Just say it and they should just accept you for being who you are! Besides, who else can have such a stable job with each day being so different?

Here it goes...
I don't think I could possibly put those things away - I've invested far too much time, effort, blood, and sweat to get where I am today. I will just leave it be as a hobby and maybe play some gigs (outside of Church). Thanks guys - everyone I've talked to in my family likes this choice better and all the RN's I've talked to said that they love their jobs...Hopefully, and faithfully, I will love my job as an RN equally!

Here it goes...
I'm doing it. I have finally decided to give up pursuing a music degree (seems like a dead end street for me) and follow nursing. I'm about to send this application into the college and get my pre-req's out of the way. I'm excited!!! But a little scared....

Nursing Musicians?
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I totally know that comparing these two degrees is about the same as comparing the characteristics of an apple to a steak. I understand partially that there will be a lot of work involved. As of right now (whilst pursuing the BA Music) I am receiving 16 credit hours, which translates to at a minimum of 32 class hours. This excludes homework, studying, etc. I think it would be beneficial to shadow an RN before I make this decision in order to obtain a full perspective of a local RN. Thanks again for all the responses, I believe I'm leaning closer than ever to pursuing the Nursing path. ~Drew

Nursing Musicians?
I am currently a musician (seeking BA Music) trying to decide whether I should pursue nursing. I wanted to know if you guys could help me come up with a list of pros and cons of nursing when compared to the music degree. I love performing music, but helping others and the money is also appealing...I'm in quite a dillemma!!! Your help is much appreciated! ~Drew
