Is it okay to want to be a CRNA because......
1. they have a lot of autonomy 2. get to perform fun hands on procedures such as central lines, A-lines, intubations, epidurals, etc, 3. and at the same time get to use your brain to analyse, stay on top of, and essentially control patients' safety and comfort? 4. All the while being compensated nicely with somewhat decent working hours.. This is what I think I am getting into by pursuing a career as a CRNA. Am I wrong. Are there other reasons? Am I being short sited? Anesthesiologists i know from work all say that I will love it and that it is such a great career. I have had the opportunity to shadow 2 different CRNA's, one who does solely pediatric cases at a large children's hospital, and another CRNA who does adult cases. Both practitioners really seemed to and stated that they love their jobs. I have had the opportunity to shadow 2 different CRNA's, one who does solely pediatric cases, and another who does adult cases in a large teaching hospital. Both practicioners really seemed to love their jobs and told me that they did. The day with the adult CRNA was a little less interesting as we were in an endoscopy suite all day giving propofol. My time spent in the OR was a lot more enjoyable. All that being said, I would appreciate the insight of anyone currently working in the field as to why else they like their job or choose the particular career path. Feel free to PM me with anything you would like to add. Thanks so much

Process recording- Please NEED HELP!!
Ok not that anyone really cares, but I just wanted everyone who helped me to know that I finished my process recording. It was a long process (no pun intended), but I finally finished. And I think its quite good. That being said, if anyone in the future reads this and is frusterated by process recordings, let me know and I will be happy to share what I did. (it is a process recording for a psych patient w/ schizoaffective disorder) ~ Josh

Process recording- Please NEED HELP!!
Yeah I couldn't agree more with what you said. I did the exact same thing last semester for my process recording and ended up with great results. Teachers do love it when you write down and then point out your mistakes. And it DEFINATLY makes it more realistic. Appreciate the support. Hopfully I will be finished by tonight ~ Josh

Process recording- Please NEED HELP!!
Those of you who have offered advise, I thank you. Daytonite I am actually trying to make up the conversation. Unfortunatly that is where my trouble is comming. I can do fine analysing any conversation or making suggestions on what type of com style I used or should have used. I had to do one last semester, but in a nursing home setting not psych. I figured if someone already had a conversation recording on paper, It would give me some ideas to play off of as I "fudge" my conversation And no, I am not turned off from posing here in the futre. I only wish I found this site months ago. I will continue to work on what I am doing, but if anyone has any help to add, please feel free as I will graciously except. I know everyone must be stressed as finals approach, and that many of us are in the same boat (with I guess the exception of the first poster, but hey what can you do). Like I said before, I would be happy to help someone else in any other areas especially care plans. I have done a few of those and gotten A's on them. FOr whatever reason I just hate the process recordings. I would rather do 3 care plans instead of one process recording. That being said I am going back to work on this. ~ Josh

Process recording- Please NEED HELP!!
Thanks for the input. I will get rid of my e-mail. Its not actually due tomorrow and I have been working on it for a little while now, I am just having some stumblings on the conversation piece as I did not record mine and I know I am missing things. I guess I overexagerrated on my original post, I was just freaking out a little due to being a little stressed out. I figured if someone had a converdation written down somewhere it would help me out. I will definatly check out the links thanks again.
