  1. Thanks for the replies! I am currently a CNA in North Dakota. I contacted the NC registry and they said that they don't "transfer" over CNA licenses. Bummer. I did see that you can take the test without taking a class...but I'm applying to UNC-Wilmington and one of their requirements is that a CNAI course be taken with a clinical component. Now when I got my CNA certification in ND I took a class with a clinical component...so I'm thinking I could just challenge the exam and be ok with doing it that way. Needless to say I've tried asking all these questions to the school of nursing and they've been very vague in their answers. What do you all think?
  2. Hi everyone! So I'm applying to the University of North Carolina Wilmington and one of the requirements to apply to the school of nursing is that we be a level one Nurse Aide. This would be all fine and dandy...except I don't even live in North Carolina yet and I won't until June. (My husband is in the Marines and he just got stationed there..I'm finishing the semester up where I'm at right now and moving to NC after that.) So I need to be a Nurse Aide I by the application deadline, August 10. I was wondering if anyone knew of any nursing homes or schools, or any place for that matter in which they offer Nurse Aide I classes near Jacksonville, NC or Wilmington, NC. I would hate to put off applying by another semester just because I haven't met this one requirement! Any help would be soooo greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Hi everyone! I'm new to the board and have a few questions that hopefully some of you can help me with. I'm 20 years old, getting my AS in Science degree in May, and just got married to the most wonderful man in the world...who just happens to be in the US Marines. So needless to say I'll be moving in June...not sure to where yet (I'll find out in 2 weeks I think). So that makes applying to nursing schools a little hard......we pretty much have it narrowed down to 2 places though...So. Cal. or NC. I have applied at CSU-San Marcos and UNC-Wilmington just recently. So not sure if I've been accepted into either one yet. I'm looking at entering into the nursing program in the Spring of 2008 and finishing up the prerequisites in Fall of 2007. Of course this is only if I get accepted to the school where I will be living....I guess my worry is that I won't get accepted to the school because I applied so late...and that I won't be able to get into the nursing program because they seem to favor students who completed the prerequisites at those schools. Does anybody know anything about how many students are usually admitted into a nursing program? Someone also mentioned to me that they thought some schools offered a BS in Nursing online while you did clinicals at whatever city you lived in (and this wasn't for an RN-BSN program either)....but I haven't been able to find anything like that. So this is much longer than I wanted it to be, but I hope that someone has some advice. Thanks so much!!
