  1. I worked in the ICU, the reason i left was mostly the understaffing, required on call, etc. Everyone was screaming and no one was listening so I left after around 5 months. I signed a 2 yr contract but the risk wasnt worth loosing my license.
  2. Absolutely not. Maybe if you want to loose your license. This has been preached before. Until nurses begin to refuse these crazy assignments charge, management, and administrators will continue to do this. If hospitals can afford to pay MD's those "generous" salaries, they can afford to pay for an extra nurse or two. Understaffing is the hospitals problem not yours.

    Just wondering how many have access to PACS (Picture archiving and communications system) for viewing x-rays, etc. if it is used in their unit.
