  1. :smackingf I think I work at the same facility as Cindylufus. Oh my gosh! The saddest thing about it is that my manager has went a step further. We have been getting low satisfaction scores lately. So we were asked to tell patients on discharge that if anyone called them for a survey, rate our unit as excellent. LIKE I WOULD DARE! If you get good service then great but Im not gonna prompt you to lie for us if you didn't. When I saw the note, I just laughed. This profession is not what I thought it would be!
  2. I dont want to start something here, but its my opinion that the reason nurses AND teachers dont get paid well and have it so hard is because its a field dominated by women. The PAs and MDs are generally men along with the Superintendents and Deans of the school systems. Sorry thats just what I notice. I agree with some of you about nursing. Im sick of it because the lines are blurred. "PATIENT CARE" can mean anything, and if you dont do it, I'm sure someone will find a way to punish you with the threat of ABANDONMENT or NEGLECT. Those words seem to keep us in check with the higher ups. I AM SICK OF IT.
  3. I hate my manager and her manager too. If i had to say one good thing about her its that I work nights and dont have to see her a lot. (But that doesnt stop her from calling me on my day off after I just worked 3 days straight and trying to sleep):angryfire
  4. Hi all, Im Jackie and I live in Charlotte, NC. I've been a nurse for almost 3 years now. Right now I work post partum but I'm looking into moving to a cardiac unit. I think that maybe somewhere in the very distant future I'd like to be a CRNA or CNS. Anyone else with the same interests, I'd love to here your advice on career paths to reach these goals. To everyone else, I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather we are having. On your day off, go out and feel the sun on your shoulders.
