How many classes are to many?
Do you all think that A & P I with lab and Intro to Psych. are ok to take together? I am taking the A & P on campus and the Intro to Psych. online.

How many classes are to many?
I was thinking speech. It is recquired for one nursing school and will be my elective for the other nursing school that I will be applying at. I will have help when my husband gets off of work at 4:30 every evening except for the 10 to 12 days that he is out of town. I do have a fantastic daycare lady. She is so sweet. My son and I have gone over there a couple of times already so I could observe things and see how she runs everything. That is another thing...I think this summer is going to be really hard on me emotionally because it will be the first time that anyone else has taken care of my son other then my husband. I have never been away from my son for more then 2 hours. It will be hard leaving him behind...sometimes I just get a stomache just thinking about it, I don't know why I feel so guilty. I am a homemaker so I do not work outside my house so that helps that I do not have to worry about working. I had the opportunity to challenge the LPN test when I was in the Navy and I didn't do that, I really wish I would have done that because that would've saved me 2 whole semesters in school. I have had lots of experience with patients...iv insertion, drawing blood, patient care, etc. I just don't know what my study habits are. I have been out of highschool for 6 years. I am just so stressed and I don't know what to do.

How many classes are to many?
Hey everyone! My husband is gone about 10 to 12 days every month with his job. He is in the military. We just moved up here so I do not really no anyone except for my landlord. I have a 10 month old baby and I am currently enrolled in A & P 1 with lab and also Intro to Psych. for the summer semester. Would it be to much for me to add another class? This is my first time going to college. I feel I might have an advantage with the A & P since I was a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy but I haven't taken that class since 2002. I have been out for 2 years now. The more classes I have completed the more points I get towards getting into a nursing program. I will be applying for the class that starts in 2008. If I do not get into that class I will have to wait until we get to our next destination which isn't until the middle of 2010....I have to wait since the class that starts in 2009 doesn't graduate until 2011 and we will be long gone from here. So I am in a bit of a pickle. I just want to make sure that I am not biting off more then I can chew by taking to many classes and having my baby. Should I just stick with the 2 classes or add more? I should mention that apps. are do at the end of January. Any advice would be great! Thanks. ~Hayley~

English Composition/College Writing
I was wondering if anyone has taken the CLEP College Writing with essay or the English Composition Exam with Excelsior? I am looking to do one of those and I was wondering if it was extremely difficult or if I should just take the class at the college. I haven't taken English classes since highschool...6 years ago. I did do really well on my placement test for the college in English. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. ~Hayley~

Microbiology before A & P I & II
I found out that the community college that is about an hour away from here has a campus site in the town that is only 20 miles from my house...and they had 5 spots open in A & P I so I got in!!!! I am so happy! Thank you everyone for your wonderful help. I must say though...I am planning on taking Microbiology spring semester 2008 and I am quite intimidated by it. It sounds hard. I ordered a couple of used books and I am going to start looking over them now so I can familarize myself a little with it. I also bought a Microbiology color studying guide book. How is A & P I...fun? Thanks everyone for all of your wonderful advice! I love this forum...everyone is so kind and friendly!

Microbiology before A & P I & II
Gosh, I just don't know what to do. I think I will probably just end up waiting since the Microbiology course is only 8 weeks long...that means it will be a lot more intense! I sure do appreciate everyone's advice. It helps me out a lot! Getting into nursing school is so very stressful. They are waving that I didn't have Chemistry with Lab in highschool so that I can get accepted into the nursing school but I have to wait until Friday to find out if they wave it so I can take A & P I this fall, if I don't get to take that then I will not be able to get into the nursing program and I will not be able to apply for another 3 and a half years since we are only here until June of 2010...so I have to get into the class that starts the fall of 2008. I am super stressed! I about passed out when I found out that they require hs chemistry with lab to take A & P. And also, in 3 and a half years I will only have around 4 years or so to use up my GI Bill that I have through the military and I really want to get my Master's degree someday and I would hate to have to pay for my BSN and MSN when I had all that money through the military. Thanks for all of your advice!

Microbiology before A & P I & II
Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has taken Microbiology before A & P I & II? Normally the college here makes you take A & P first but since it is the summer session you are kind of on your own. I was wondering if it would be wise for me to take that before the other two? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Need some advice please...
I could have challenged the LPN test when I was in the Navy but I can no longer do that since I am not active duty. I think I am just going to go with a traditional nursing school since I have been out of practice for 2 years. Thanks for replying back to me.

Need some advice please...
I am actually going to take all of my generals through the community college. They have a nursing program as well and there is another nursing program in my area to. The problem with that is both programs only accept approx. 35 students and receive over 300 applications. We are due to leave here in 2010, so if I do not get accepted into the class that starts in 2008 then I will have to wait until we leave here and get to our next destination...so then I would have to wait another 3 years. Plus, I would like to study at home and be with my son if possible so that is why I was really looking into the EC program. I am just really worried because like I said I have been out of patient care for 2 years. Is there a place that I could freshen up my skills that is associated with EC? Any info and advice would be appreciated so much! Thanks!

Need some advice please...
Hi everyone! I got accepted into the EC nursing program. I was really excited until I spoke with a person out of admissions. I was a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy for 4 years and I worked in PACU, APD, Neurosurgery Clinic, and OB/GYN. I have been out of the Navy since February 2005. The lady I spoke with was very nice but she said that I should reconsider this program since I have been out of patient care for 2 years. When I was in the Navy I was offered to challenge the test for LPN but I didn't. I wish I would have. Anyways...do you think that I should do this program or apply for a traditional program? She really scared me with the CPNE. I was really hoping this program would work for me since my hubby is gone 2 weeks out of every month and I have a 10 month old baby, so I was really looking forward to being able to study and stay home with my son. I haven't drawn blood (which I worked the lab in APD so I don't think I would have problems remembering how to do that), put in a Foley Catheter, or done IV's in over 2 years. Any advice would be much appreciated! I don't want to spend all of that money and fail. Thanks.
