Credential review problem with IERF
I applied for my nursing licensure evaluation at IERF from France beginning of March 2011. After 3 months they rejected my evaluation. After a hard call phone they finally explained what they wanted: a letter from my nursing school signed by the director saying I completed all the courses and I passed all the tests and diploma (they already had all my academic records sent by the school and translated in English as well as my diplomas) and finally I received my evaluation in October 2011 in the US. I applied for Florida first, but in June IERF told me Florida is not easy, it will be better if I applied for another state or more. So I paid the fee for two more states (California and North Carolina). I choose these states because there were on the list of IERF and I like to live in these areas too. You can see on the IERF site: http://ierf.org/index.php/nursing/ Nursing State Licensing Boards that Accept IERF Evaluations Arizona Arkansas California Florida Michigan (vocational nursing only) Missouri New Mexico North Carolina North Dakota Oregon Texas Vermont I applied on line for the Florida nursing board, and I sent an email to the California nursing board to know what I have to do. They answered me that they DO NOT accept credentialing service report. I Read on the North Carolina that they don't accept IERF too. So if you need a credential review for California or North Carolina don't use IERF!

French nurse wants to move to England
Hello, I am a French male nurse wants to move for one year to England in september 2010 (I want to pass the TOEFL and if it's possible the NCLEX too and want to live and work in an English environment to become realy fluent in English, the plan is to move to Australia for 1 or 2 years and move to USA after). I am looking for a job in Portsmouth or in the south coast. I prefer a nursing home or care of the elderly. I'm going to register to the NMC in january. We (me and my wife) are going to Portsmouth next weekend to see the city. I am interested in all information about nursing jobs in Portsmouth (or near) and the way of life in the city. If a French nurse has moved in England (or UK) I am very curious about her/his story. Thank you for any information. Fred

Hello from France
Hi Mark, you can find many informations on this thread : https://allnurses.com/international-nursing/nursing-in-france-51801.html San Francisco is a nice place to live, stay there and come in France for vacations ! If you have an Italian citizenship it's more easy to come and work in Europe. To work in france first you must speak French and after you have to pass the French nurse diploma maybe 1 year of school (maybe 2 years). You will be pay 1600 € (US$ 2000) and work in very bad conditions ! So you only work 35 hours per week and have many vacations. Good luck if you really want to work in France. Fred

Nursing in France
Hi! Abellam. Well, you live in the Bay area, one of the most beautifull place in the world, you are one of the highest paid nurses in the US and you want to work in France ! OK, OK ! :chuckle Firstly you must be fluent in French. Secondly read that : http://ec.europa.eu/internal_market/qualifications/docs/nurses/2000-study/nurses_france_en.pdf http://editions.campusfrance.org/filieres/en/infirmier2_en.pdf http://editions.campusfrance.org/filieres/en/infirmier1_en.pdf The working conditions are very varied, some places are good, some places are very bad, but generally not very good. The pay is not very enormous from 1500 € to 2800 € a month (2045 $ to 3800 $) . I think vacation in France is a better idea. Good luck. Fred

One DDASS in each departement (division of local government). You can find address and telephone numbers here : http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/trouverlesprofessionnels/index.do quoi, qui (what, who) : ddass or dass ou (where) : the city or departement But things are changing, next year the French board of registered nursing will be in place (ONI). I will say more later.

Nursing in France
Nurse in France : new informations Firstly you must speak French. EU national who have a nurse diploma recognized in EU state can have an authorization to work as nurse in France. For example Spanish who have diploma from recognized Latin America state in Spain can work in France. It is the same thing for English or Irish who have recognized diploma in United Kingdom (Canada, USA, Australia, New-Zeland ...). So if you can have EU nationality ... and your diploma is recognized in EU state, you can work in France (or in another EU state if you speak German, Spanish, Italian ...)

Nursing in France
Hi Michael, I try to give you some informations. Firstly to work in France you must be fluent in French. Secondly you must have the French diploma (State Diploma) or EU diploma (from Eire, England, Belgium, Spain ...), because nurse is a protected profession. I am afraid that your masters will not be recognized in France (if you can work as a nurse) because here nurse diploma is not an university level. At present we are on stroke and we demonstrate because we want that our diploma (3 years and 3 months of study) will become a bachelor and we will can have a master and a doctorate in nursing sciences. Here the only specialities are : Pediatric nurse (1 year) Operating room nurse (1 year) Anesthesiologist-Resuscitation nurse (2 years) Manager nurse (1 year). So if you have an Irish passport it is very easy to come and stay in France without visa, and you can work, but you have not the Irish diploma !! You will be have a French passport and not an EU diploma it will be the same thing !! You will take the competitive entrance exam for a French nursing school. So the 11e in Paris is a very good choice it is a pleasing area. good luck, Fred.
