Help! I work as a day shift charge nurse at a LTC facility. I love talking with and caring for the elderly residents and communicating with the families. That is my favorite part of nursing!:redbeathe But the work load is just crazy- I give all meds, do all tx and charting and general charge- for 26 patients. While most of the CNAs are ok, I feel like there is no support from other staff ,administration- DON, secretary, etc..When I get an admission which many times they do not inform me until minutes before they arrive, no body helps- even if it's the middle of my medpass.etc... Ok everyone. I've been a nurse for 14 yrs and know it's not any easy job but having teamwork , job security, (because I feel like I could loose my license if this keeps up)and 30 minute lunch ea day would be nice. Any suggestions for another field of nursing? or is it the place I work?
