as far as I was concerned the MD said to hold the blood and I felt like it was the right decision, as far as for this nurse's concern who has been a nurse alot longer than me, the MD and I made the wrong decision.

blood transfusion
Hi everyone, I am a new nurse on a med surg floor, mostly post op pt. I had a situation the other night where I had to transfuse a unit of blood to a pt. before the transfusion vital signs were taken and the BP was 180/100, HR 130, I obviously held the blood and call the MD right away. the blood was never given even though the H&H was low. in the morning when I gave report to the AM nurse, and explained to her what had happened over night she said to me that I made a big mistake for not transfusing the blood even though the VS were not WNL,I believe I did the right thing but I am a new nurse so I am feeling a bit doubtful, can someone please help me out with this one, thank you!

Hi everyone, I am taking the NCLEX on 3/12, I have been studying with nclex 3000 cd, lippincot, and after hearing about this website and finding out that suzanne says that saunders is highly recommended I have been doing every end of chapter questions,I have been scoring 75-80. I feel at this point that I am going out of my mind from nerves my eye has been twitching for 3 days now LOL, I have been drinking wine every night to relax(I feel like an alcoholic) LOL. I am 3 days before this exam,I am afraid that I might cause myself to go blank from such nerves.I need some advice please.

hello everyone,need some advice
hi everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know that I think this website is great.I just graduated from nursing school in jan.07, and I have been studying for the NCLEX since then my test is next week. When I began to study I felt so overwhelmed, and started getting such anxiety. Then I found out about this website, and it is unreal,I read the threads every night for some reason it relaxes my anxiety,it is very comforting to know that I am not going through anything abnormal, this is just the continuation of school just a bit more intense. I want to thank u all for relieving my anxiety;) . on another note, maybe someone could give me some advice? I've been told over and over to just do questions to study for the test, that wasn't enough for me so I have been doing 100-150 questions a day and I have been reading my notes.with all of that I still do not feel confident enough,it is driving me nuts.Any advice I would appreciate it.Thank you again:monkeydance:
