  1. Thanks everyone for your input! It really does help. :nuke:
  2. Good evening! I am planning on going to nursing school in the next ten years but before that I have just been hired on at a hospital as the sole recruiter and I will mostly recruit nurses. They are building a new, state of the art hospital and will need to almost double their nursing staff with a mix of new grads and experienced nurses. My boss is looking for new and creative recruiting ideas. He's very much a "think outside of the box" kind of guy and wants to attract the best nurses possible. The old hospital has been around for a long time and even though it is a quality insitution it is not one of the "hot" choices for nurses. People just don't know about us, although they certainly will soon enough! Anyway, I was hoping that some of the nurses here could share with me how they were recruited to their position and if they have seen any really different recruitment methods. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
  3. this is another main reason i chose this program. i will need care for my then 3 year old. omg, he'll be three before i ever start the program.

Thanks for the info. Congrats again on passing!
  5. I'm in Southwest City. Close to St. Louis Hills. Welcome!

First of all, congrats on passing! I've been watching your siggie waiting for results! :nuke: Second, I see that you are going into L&D. That is exactly what I hope to do when I finally graduate some time around 2089. Can you tell me what steps you took and are taking to get where you want to go? Thanks so much!
  7. WDWPixie is a smart cookie.
  8. I am taking the same test for SLCC. I signed up for the Nursing Math class mentioned above. I am taking the online version. I'll be applying for the program after I take BIO and CHEM this summer. I'll probably take the dosage test in the Fall so that I don't take it too early.
  9. I am taking both Chem and BIO online this summer. I'm going to do all of my prereqs at night, online or on the weekends so that I don't have to put my son in daycare until I start the program. Saves me some money!
  10. I better lose some weight! Are they scrubs? I wonder what Meramec wears. Thanks for the answer!
  11. I was just reading a thread about NS uniforms on another forum. What do the schools around St. Louis have you wear? And when are you required to wear them? ps: I don't look good in white!
  12. Take a look at the hospital websites. They often say. It can be anywhere from $1500 to $4000 per year. Some hospitals have caps, others do not.
  13. I honestly slept like a rock last night!
  14. Thanks so much! I do already feel better now that I have made my decision. I'm the kind of person who really needs to have a plan in place. I'll probably sleep better tonight. Well, that depends on how my 16 month old sleeps.
  15. I think I have finally decided to go the STLCC route! I've been stressing about it all week and this is the best decision for me and my family. We will have to postpone building our dream house and having a second child for about 4 years but it will be so worth it. I'm taking BIO and CHEM this summer and then on to A&P, MicroBIO and Human Growth. Then I'll sit around twiddling my thumbs waiting for my letter! You all have been such a great help in making my decision. I'm so glad I found this board!
