VEEB LPN Program (info request)
Hi ladies dime here! Please send(pm) me your email. I will pickup the info I had informed you previously about (the bridge program). I asked what was on the paperwork and was told it has to the w/ anatomy. Just as TriniAngel provided. Cells, organ etc. Those of you who are interested you know what to do. I'll forward via attachment to your email. I asked Sheshe1 to also get her friend to tell us what to expect on the entrance assessment they plan to give us during orientation.

VEEB LPN Program (info request)
As we discussed, I spoke w/ Jacksonville they informed me I can take classes geared for the RN program, but their is no online school but Excelsior that has direct LPN to BSN program. They said, it'll be best to go to a local community or unversity to obtain the RN. Excelsior does sound good if Helen Fuld doesn't come throught, but in all honesty. The Fundelmental of Nursing is better when you have the classroom setting and your clinicals are hands on, instead of online. I think its best to take my shot w/ Helen and then I can go to Jacksonville for the remaining classwork. *** Their really picky down here w/ the education, and you do have competition. I need an online school that would be exceptable for my masters if I plan to continue, which most likely I will. I think I'm going to go around asking the hospital recruiters how they feel about hiring w/ the online degree(some online not all). I know Memorial Sloan Kettering its not bad interms of hiring online degree, but their systems are not updated and alot of the nurses complain about doing manual paperwork. I'm gonna try to put my HR skills to work; I'll let you know what I find out about the online degree, before you wined up waisting money.

Welcome, Sheshe. I see you made it to the board. Whatever info you have we're all ears. We are all here to share our thoughts and advises to one another. Any question you may have just asked the board and someone will hopefully have some of the answer if not all. Once more welcome Sheshe to the Veeb Club!

It is a scam. If they don't pass they will give them back $800 of $1000 from their deposit. Not to mention the 450 they had alreay given for the remedial.. Correct me if I'm wrong? Related info on site: https://allnurses.com/forums/f164/nassau-veeb-lpn-program-198341.html

You are right ...it is team work! I'll let you know what materials they are covering...According to the instructor who's teaching this remedial or Bridge program. She is surely indicating how much of an advantage they are in....Not cool! And if they are indeed learning some things we aren't that pertain to the material for the semester. Then I would think they would be at an advantage. Well... too each its own! Thanks Trini...I'm trying to keep this forum up so we can gather enough info from each other as possible. Once more thanks a million! The module is just for Anatomy?? Correct??

I agree we're going to have to stay focused. Even online we can help each other out. Study, study, study, is indeed the best way for all of us to even have a fair shot at Helen Fuld , as well. We might not be in the same Group A/B, but we are surely going to get the same materials. Keep motivated and connected. We might just be each others greatest help. -------------------------------- AS FOR THE INSIDE INFO.....(singing) "I'LL NEVER TELL...". :smiley_ab Besides, one must not give up their sources. It'll ruinned it for the rest of us!LOL!! And we just might have too...... And I don't think you would want that..would you...:sofahider. LOL **Oh...and Pink...what's best about this is...its straight from the horses mouth. LOL!!!- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
Don't laugh...... a good 2weeks only. Apparently, I was informed they are covering not only medical terminology, but preparation on Nclex exam. At first I was just as confused as you all were; came to realize perhaps they felt they should get them acustom to the schools material since their entrance scores weren't so good. Which I guess, would be a smart thing to do by getting them better prepare. Anyway, my friend is waiting for the end of their class ( this thursday), i believe. She wants to make one copy of the entire material given to them from the remedial course. Be patient ladies....I didn't want to devulge to much info...I don't wanna press my luck on a public forum. You never know who's reading.- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
Well it turns out the remedial classes has the headsup. They are already covering medical terminology. The instructor told them they'll be somewhat advance, because of the material covered on top of their assignment on July. I''m having a friend makes some copy for me. If its anything major or worth your while; I"ll forward it for those who are interested. Will come back w/ more info...- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
.....I figured as much. That's what I like straight from the horses mouth. ***Speaking of physical exam. A prospective student informed me that half the class of '07 this year", either were failing or just quit. Her cousin is in the program. I was in state of shock! Consider this "cocky" but I really didn't anticipate it to be that difficult. "Well I guess I would of been in for a rude awakening."- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
Bajani, Don't worry. I know your tired of Veeb telling you be patient, but in all honesty, everything they said we would expect has happen. I did ask around for you and found out that they are awaiting the last week of remedial classes to conclude; as PinkDove pointed out. Last week should end on June 29th(Some where around the end of June). They need to added these people to orientation; also what they told these students, after passing this classes they have one more exam to take. Once they have pass they will included their name for orientation. We will be divided in to 2 groups A/B, supposably. These student's have already reserve their spot. Their just awaiting the result of this second test, and the physical. Either wish way the end of June you should probably get a letter from them. Furthermore, they but a hold on registration so they can continue admitting more students; apparently the anticipated student's in the program is not enough. Do keep in mind the school is trying to fill up 200 seats. Considering the snow storm delay they had around March and April; it might of been the case where some students didn't take the test or simply didn't pass.:smackingf Well after April some people were still allowed to take the exam. Its really not you Bajani. Their just trying to make up for loss. Afterall, it is a business. ***If your put on a waiting list its only to find out who will pass or not pass this remedial course, and I know for a fact 1 student already dropped out. Don't worry....the almighty will do what's best for you. So just keep your headup and pray on it. It works for me, and I am no .- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
Akanini...nice name...remind me of African tribal name...you know...like Shaka Zulu or something.LOL!! Don't mind me, I like the weirdest things sometimes. :rotfl: Anyway, getting to the point, you are absolutely right. A plan B is advisable. However, I really like everything in Helen Fuld...so a 85% in every class will be the minimal acceptable grade in my mind. I'm reaching for the stars ladies. I'll go check out Excelsior. I was planning on Jacksonville but thats more than a year for a BSN.I rather become an RN now, and then move on the BSN degree. I was scare to try schools like Excelsior, thats why I opt for Jacksonville , because they have an on-campus nursing program as well. I guess I wanted to play it safe. In the city employers are funny. I don't want to be single out because my degree is an online degree. It seems the online program in the health field is becoming increasingly popular...So I figured if their is any school I will give ago would be Jacksonville. What do you like about that school? If you don't mine me asking. Is it offering similar courses to Helen?? Is it affiliated w/ any other school or also referrals from any potential employers. These thing are very important to me. I don't want to have another degree in my hands, that is completely useless. Going through this site, I realize that RN non-degree is not that far off then RN w/BS degree in terms of payscale. I figure why do that when I can have someone else pay for my education and make close to the same income other nurses are making. What do you think??? Akanini...I'll go ahead and check out excelsior....as far as that assignment...(word of mouth). It's some sort of reading assignment, and as soon as we go to class we will have a short quiz the first week. That's just word of mouth. I like my sources straight from the horses mouth.:barf01:- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
Tini??? I have another question, if you don't mind? The assignment that has to be done before starting classes. What type of assignment is it?? For example, an essay or reading and answer questions type of homework. Does it take the the entire summer to completely or is it a 2 week reading assignment. You know ...really basic? *** Pinkdove, I did my research and call Helen Fuld as stated. They will have an open house on June 26 (11-1pm) & 28 (4-6pm) if anyone is interested on speaking w/ some of the counselors. I want to make sure the prerequisits and required course are possible to complete in 1 year, and if my previous courses are transferable. If you ladies have time perhaps you should check it out. Ask for Mrs. Hernandez. I believe she is conducting the open house for this month.- VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Any careplan books recommended???- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
Hey Ladies, Dime here! Go Trini, Go Trini, Go! You go girl.. 92% wow!!! I do agree the study group is what i'm planning; it was suggested by one of the lab instructors at VEEB. I am really happy for you and wish you all the best w/ veeb and helen fuld. I was told a good careplan is required?? Do we need to get this?? What should we prepare for?? Will we have clinicals immediately within the program or do you have lectures the first week? So much questions Trini.... I'm not going to ask you for the books recommend, because i'm pretty sure they'll update the inventory yearly. However, what are the subjects does one at veeb takes?? Are you working while attending school?? Ok I guess i'm asking too much questions:trout: . I guess i'm eager for all of us....I wish you all best of luck.- VEEB LPN Program (info request)

I use to work for JP Morgan Chase their educational loan are not bad. I had to leave to find a part time job for Veeb. The interest rate is fair, like most government loans. Your credit rating is not really as important. It's a standard or set rate offering. That's another you can try, but before requesting the loan....you should really find out during orientation how much they are willing to offer you. Veeb can't tell w/ out looking at your financial status. You might not need to take out to much; this will also give you opportunity to take out for Helen Fluid in November. Taking out a loan isn't horrible. Just as long as you pay it back when you can. Their are some doctors who will not even finish paying. They will owe the government until death, but you do what has to be done. In addition, once your done you will have the opportunity to pay it back. You are going into a good career. Don't worry take out the loan if you haven't done it before. Trust me. However, if you plan to finish your education after your Rn license make sure you find a facility which will give you educational reimbursement. You'll find away...I know you will.- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
This is great! Yes, I am also considering to try this as well. So greatful you mention this.... Instead of going to Jacksonville w/ a hole lot of debt. I should become an RN,and get a better benefit package offer. Keeping an 85 average for all class is not bad. The credits are transferable??? Jacksonville, will allow me to get my BSN much faster than traditional w/ the RN license. I've been reading the whole board trying to find a faster route. This is wayyyyy better. Thanks guys! I believe you guys can do it...both of you seems so motivated.- VEEB LPN Program (info request)
I'll double check... OOOOh I know which paper your refering too. The paper given during the application process. The very first paper given to us. Dang! Oki dok...I'll go read again. Thanks for the headsup. - VEEB LPN Program (info request)
