  1. That's true about the competition! It's probably better than a lot of schools because they only allow something like 30 students into Microbiology so not everyone can apply in April and its in a fairly rural area. Even so, I think we are all at our wit's end worrying about getting in! So far I have really enjoyed West Central and I can compain but I'm sure no school is perfect. Overall, I really like the students and the teachers so I think it must be as good other programs and probably better than most. I also worry about clinicals because a friend of mine told me her's were in Rome and I don't want to drive to Rome frequently but I guess I'll take what I can get.
  2. try some of the hospitals in the area for receptionist or patient care jobs.
  3. You have to have Microbiology and application is due by April 1. You must have an NLN score composite of 40 (30 in math, eng, science) but they recommend a minimum of 90. NLN is 60% of the score and GPA is 40%. I don't know anything about the program specifically but I've taken all my prerequiste courses there. I just know that it's really competitive to get in.
