  1. Congrats!!! I wish my faith follow yours By the way did you know what happen to the previous batch? Are they now working at SLMC? How many percent make it through? I remember The HR told us that you need to be in the top 90% of the training batch to be able to make the cut. Is that true? Well goodluck!!!
  2. wow! are you part of that batch? may I know when did you apply, had your interviews? I'm wating for 2 months now after my ASSESMENT test (computer based with voice simulation) and I'm just wondering what happen... submitted my resume jult 2008, had my initial interview Aug 2008, technical interview Sept 2008 and then the assessment test last Nov 2008. The one who conducted the computer based exam told me to wait for a text or call regarding the medical schedule, but it's been 2 months and no message from them. Somebody told me that the assessment test is not a pass or fail test but now I kinda thinking that it is.
  3. rinskie, tmc's process of submitting application changed just this month. instead of putting your resume and other credentials to the drop box at the employee's entrance , you now need to go to the hr and log your name, position your applying for, contact # and address at the computer inside.
  4. Thank you cyberfanatic!!! I appreciate your reply, very informative. If I choose to become part of wellness, do I have the opportunity/chance to transfer to the floor? How long do I need to wait? Do I need to be a regular employee first? I apologize for bugging you with these questions. The thing is I also applied at St. Luke's- Global City and I am now in the process of completing my medical exams, requirements and may start the training, but as you probably heard the hospital will not be open till October of next year. I just want to make sure that I am making the right decission of chosing TMC over SLMC because I know once I signed a contract that's it, there's no backing out. Thank you for being patient with my quiries. I really appreciate you taking time to answer them. Have a nice day and Godbless! :loveya:
  5. thank you for that info! I'm confused though, does it mean that my experince would be like I am having my duty in a clinic? What about experinces and trainings that I would acquire? Will it help me in terms of professional growth? You've describe it like there's nothing much to do. Only assist? What about medications, charting, special areas, are there any? Sorry if I thow so many questions. I just want to have an idea before taking this position. Thank you in advance!
  6. I received a text message from TMC that I am sceheduled for an Interview. The position that they are offering is as a staff nurse for Wellness Section. Do you Know what Wellness section is all about? Is this an opd? ancillary department? Please educate me. Thank you!
  7. hi! I got a message from medical city that I am scheduled for an interview for the staff nurse position for their wellness section. I am interested but I am not familiar with the "wellness section" though I search the TMC site I am not sure what it is. If anyone here have informations please post them. Thank you all!:redpinkhe
  8. I had my technical interview last sept. 30 and received a text message for an assessment tomorrow. Do anyone know what this exam is? Is it a pass or fai kind of exam? do anyone know when will be the next schedule for the training? thank you all!!!
  9. hi kyckerz, I think as a professional nurse we should answer with the right terms. Simple term will do just fine as long as you know what you are talking about and as long as you will be able to say what the right asnwer is. Goodluck!
  10. wow congtrats!!! goodluck!!! share your training experiences with us please
  11. hi quickwitted, there will 2 interviewers plus 5 or 6 of you applicants. you will be asked I think 10 questions (done in rotation) you will be asked situational questions, opinion based amd knowledge based. In my case our batch was asked about APGAR, GCS, Laparotomy, Ventilator, Defibrilator, Research, Management, how to handle patients in Presidential suits, divorce. listen carefully to the questions because the question itself gives you a hint on what answer they are after. Good communication skill is very important. be straight to the point!!! well, goodluck!!!
  12. I passed the technical interview actually 6 of us were interviewed but I'm the only one in my batch who got in. Thank you to all the tips you've given, It's a huge help:bow:!!! Now the HR told me to wait for their text for the schedule of my IQ test and medical. Do you have any idea how long do I need to wait:confused:? Had my technical interview last Sept. 30. If any of you guys with same date of technical interview and got a massage at any time this following weeks to come please post your updates here. Thank you again :redpinkhe!!! goodluck other applicants!!! see at SLMC :heartbeat
  13. Core competencies, confidence and fluency; wow thanks ianjel! do nurses with hopital experience have an advantage? You see I don't have any! In your opinion how do you rate the difficulty level of the questions? I appreciate you're response, thank you and congratulations!
  14. might guy, my resume was quite simple. i just put the month, year and name of the hospital where i conduct my clinical experience. no need to indicate there the departments of each hospital, i mean they know that as a student nurse we are required to be rotated in all the departments. i think it would just eat the space in your resume. if you are a fresh graduate they know that what you had right now was your rle duty experiences. try not to dwell more on your clinical rotation and make another column for your skills and concentrate more on that. with regards to skills do not put vital signs or medicine administration, that's basic it's not a skill! give emphasis on the modalities you know how to operate, knowledge you acquire from the trainings you've attended if any.enumerate the procedures you're good at and highlight your achievements. hope this help
  15. hello ianjel, congratulations! :yeah:I just finished my initial interview, i got a good feedback from the HR who conduct the interview. Just in case I got a call back for a technical interview, can you share what topics or kind of questions they ask you? Hope you post your respose. I already read lots of post regarding this question and it seems to me like nobody wants to share thier experiences when it comes to technical part. anyway do you know when will be the start of your training? congratulations again! I appreciate you sharing your story
  16. yes finally!!! after a month of waiting i got a text message from slmc hr, initial interview scheduled tom. wish me luck!!! thank you all for the tips you posted regarding the initial interview, i know it will be very useful :heartbeat for those who had their technical interview... care to share some tips??? thank you in advance!!! for other applicants who are still waiting for their schedules don't loose hope... i almost did but look what happen i know its only the first step but atleast i'm in. :wink2: remember this: " god is never too early nor never too late, he does things perfectly on time when we can appreciate it most."
  17. thanks yoo jin! someone told me that SLMC people hate follow ups. Maybe I'll try resubmiting my resume after my IV case completion. And hopefully I'll get a positive result by then.
  18. * sigh * until now I haven't received text message from them... submitted my resume last July. Just wondering why? Don't know what they are looking for... I am a December 2007 NLE passer with 81% board ratings, not from a known school but have an 88% general weighted average, a second courser, height 5'3, weight 114 lbs., no work experience yet but done with IV therapy. * sigh *
  19. I went to SLMC today, sadly I left my resume to the dropbox. I went to the 5th floor anex II before doing so and it was posted that only applicants for examination are allowed and if you are submiting your resume it should be placed at the dropbox located at the groundfloor of the main building. 2 huge boxes are placed one top of the other placed at the cardiovascular area. I kinda pick through the whole of the top one its already full but the bottom one looks like its empty. I don't know if that's good or bad because there is no certainty that the HR people check them at a daily basis ( *sigh* there goes another resume ). I never got a call when I sumbmit a resume for the SLMC-GC hopefully I will get one this time :sofahider
  20. how was the initial interview? what type of questions do they ask you? hope you could give some insight. thank you in advance!
  21. heard from St. Luke's yet? I also send my resume July 28 (walk in)and I am worried too! hope get a call this week. any way I talked to someone at SLMC when I submit my resume that it took a month for her to receive a text message. so hopefully you receive a good news as well. goodluck to us!!!
  22. thank you diapersprikles! just read your thread. how was your interview? i read to some forums that physical appearance plays a factor (height and weight, some say even the complexion), do you encounter such thing? hope your interview has a positive result. if it's ok let me know what happen. feedbacks will be much appreciated!
  23. Yes I heard the same. So what happened to your friend's application? does it mean she didn't make it? Can I ask your friend's weight and height? Can it also be that your friend is not qualified in some aspect and the St. Luke's HR was just using the height/weight excuse??? Did your friend mention anything about how the interview went or did they (HR) look for special trainings like BLS or IVT that your friend might not have?
  24. When did you start your application? How long did you wait before you got a call from them? Care to share some tips? Thank you!
  25. Do you think it is an advantage if I indicate in my resume that I already passed my NCLEX? Someone told me that it is not in St. Lukes prospective, Is it true?
