  1. Can anyone tell me what RN's make per hour in states like Texas, Georgia, Oregon and Washington? CA is soooo expensive , but the pay here for beginning nurses is in the mid thirties, and goes up to the fifties. Thanks a lot:smilecoffeecup:
  2. Hey, I took the test for CA, in Nevada, because I wanted the earliest possible test date! Anyway, took the test on the 19th of Jan, license posted exactly two weeks later. 75 questions, walked out feeling like SH--, but I passed. REsults would have been sooner, but my transcripts were delayed. Good Luck, everyone I know passed with 75.
  3. I took the NCLEX on the 19th of January. 75 ?'s, license posted on the board exactly two weeks later. FYI, I also felt as if I knew nothing when I walked out of the testing center. I hand delivered my transcripts to the board because their mailroom can take 2 weeks to process incoming mail. Good Luck, I am sure you did well!
  4. well, it took exactly two weeks, but i found out this a.m. that i passed!!! :balloons: my license was finally up on the ca brn website, and would have been there sooner if not for the fact that my school didn't do my transcripts right the first two times they sent them to the board!!! all's well that ends well..... to those of you still waiting to take the nclex, or to find out results, i wish you all the best. i know that you will all be fantastic nurses!
  5. Used it as a stepping stone, the pre reqs were more user friendly when my kids were small, and I was ablt to do an accelerated LVN-ADN program because of it
  6. My kids were 5, 6, and 11 when I started back to school full time. My kids went to daycare after school, and I was usually able to pick them up by 3:30 or so. It was definitely hard, but my husband and I were a great team and we knew in the end the struggle would be worth it
  7. A lot of people don't know this, but there are some nursing schools in Cali that WILL accept Rio's online sciences. My school was a pain in the butt, but they did finally accept them.
  8. How much $$$ are we talkin'?
  9. Dear Kirsnikity- I took the test on Friday, and I also felt horrible after. I know that the # of ?'s doesn't mean anything, but I sure felt weird when my computer shut off at 75! Why do you feel you did badly? I just felt like I was taking a test in a different language:uhoh21: Anyway, I am sure that you did fine, but waiting does stink! The BRN doesn't have my "official transcript" yet, so I will be waiting for awhile myself. hang in there
  10. i am posting in blue today, because that is how i feel. i took my nclex pn test almost 3 yrs ago, and passed w/ the min # of ?'s. yesterday i took th ern nclex, and it stopped at 75. i couldn't believe it, because i didn't feel as though i had performed as well as i could have. my program used the ati, and i was told that i had an over 99% chance of passing the nclex. somehow that doesn't make me feel any better. and after reading the boards, and seeing that there are quite a few people who stopped at 75 and failed, i feel sick to my stomach. anyway, any words of encouragement that can be offered would be appreciated.
  11. Good Luck...... Ya gotta check, cuz the result is the same whether you look or not. I may be waiting for my results for awhile, as I am in California. How many questions did ya have? I know it doesn't mean anything, but I am curious.
  12. omg!! i took the nclex yesterday, and i also feel as though my brain was removed at the door to the testing center. the fact that my friends and family are convinced that i passed doesn't really help, because i feel enormous pressure to pass! i can't even remember exact ?'s---- i just know i had alot of l&d, infection control, some check all that apply, peds. none of the questions really made me feel confident, and the one calculation i got was an i&o. a guy at the ca brn told me that your name will post w/o official transcripts, but they won't release your card. does anyone know if this is true? sorry for the rambling, but i am :barf01:
  13. i took my nclex rn today- 75 questions, 40 minutes, aagh!! passed the nclex-pn exam w/ the minimum, and am hoping for the best. i took 2 ati comp. predictor tests, and was told that my results indicated an over 99% chance of passing. looking at everyone's posts, i can see that i am not the only one who walked out feeling as though they had been kicked by a mule:smackingf lots of infection control, what would you tell your aide to do some meds i had never heard of and some mental health, peds and l&d. ca brn doesn't have my "official" transcript yet, any ideas on how long it might take for results, or if i should hand deliver a set of transcripts to them? ( it's not that far for me) thanks for any input.
