  1. It is good to hear this! The IC who did my surgery will give me a clean bill of health..etc. In fact I already hold a letter in my hand stating that I pose no risk in technical diving (SCUBA) related to the PFO and was cleared 100% to return to tech diving. I have conducted dives to 315feet since the operation with zero problems. I am sure he will give me a letter stating that I at no risk for further complications.BTW...not trying to become a diver in the Army...just want to be a Nurse in the Army.Do you think it would be wise to have more than one cardiologist review my case and write a letter? Thanks!!
  2. I had a PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) that was discovered after SCUBA diving. I am a Technical Diver (have been for years) and had an episode of dizzyness upon surfacing one day...long story short I had a TEE that discovered a PFO. I elected to have it closed (total elective surgery was not required.) I am now 100% no restrictions on diving or no restrictions on anything in life. I am prior service Army Reserve and want to re-enlist (Nursing)and am worried that the PFO will DQ me. I was in the Army Reseve for 9 years and had an open PFO the entire time, unknown to me. Now that I want to "come back in" I am worried.
  3. I am a current ER nurse (3 years of ER nursing, 3 years as an RN) Yes, I have been an ER Nurse my entire nursing career. However, I was a Paramedic and ER Tech before becoming a Nurse. I have an AS in Nursing and approx 120 other College Credits (with no other degreee to show for it.) I am Prior Service Army Reserve 9 total years as a 91B (Combat Medic.) I have been talking with a recruiter about the STRAP program. I pretty much have all the info. for now on this program but have a few other questions that I need clarification: 1) What Rank can I expect when I enlist? 2) Does the loan repayment cover past (meaning currently owed) student loans? 3) How soon would I be available to take advantage of the student loan repayments? Thanks!
  4. I went to a friends X-Ray tech pinning tonight...may have not been the smartest thing to do as it just put my mind towards my NCLEX. However, I wouldn't have missed seeing a friend get his pin. I then went and had a nice dinner with my wife, but all I can think about is "did I pass the test?"
  5. Just finished my NCLEX-RN about 4 hours ago...shut off after 75 questions. Had a lot of priority / who do you see first questions, three check all that apply, one math calculation, a couple teaching questions, and a couple pharm. questions. If I had to bet I wouldn't know what to bet on right now...pass or fail. One minute I say...I think I passed, the next I say I think I failed. Some of the questions I thought were tough!!!! Everyone is telling me: You did fine..you did great in school..you passed. You got 75 questions...you passed. Don't worry it is hard to fail at 75 questions. and so on and on.... I say...I either passed or I didn't and the number of questions just means that the computer determined rather quickly that I failed or passed. Anyway..this is going to be a rough couple days wait.
