  1. Yes, that does help, thank you! Mainly my worries with the private schools are exactly what you touched on. I definitely don't want to throw away any of my hard earned prereq's nor do I want to find myself stuck in the future when pursuing a BSN or higher. I know that both Apollo and EBSN were limited to U of P in that regard. But I wasn't aware of the difference between regional/national accreditation. I will definitely call them tomorrow. Thank you so much for all of the info! Good luck to you and congrats on starting !!! How exciting!!
  2. Wow - really? I think I will give them a call. Can I ask you what it is that impressed you about Everest? And what was your deciding factor on picking this school? I have looked into sooo many at this point I feel confused. I'm getting really tired of being on waiting lists but the private school option makes me a little nervous.....
  3. Everest is one college that I haven't looked into yet. Is this their first year here in Phoenix? Does anyone know any info about it? Do their credit's transfer? Sorry I'm full of questions.......
  4. Hi Sassiebaz! It's so funny we are so in the same boat with everything!! I just got hired through Banner as a Unit Secretary. I took their certificate program a few years back and have done the job before. They told me that the salary starts at 11.10 an hour and goes up to 19.50 depending on experience. Like I said, I have done this job before and I love it. I think it's great introductory to health care. Working this job is what made me decide I wanted to be a nurse. Please PM me if you have any questions!!
  5. Hi guys, just got back from the open house. It was pretty informative, tons of people there. Anyway, the basics are: $18,000 per year and it's 3 years if you have no pre-req's to earn the BSN. They do take all of your community college pre-req's so that determines how long the program is for you. They take 50 people every March, July, and October. It's based on GPA and they were telling us that it's highly competitive. They go by previous college GPA and also high school and SAT scores. Which is a tough one for me since I graduated 11 years ago. They gave us a list of clinical sites and I wasn't very impressed with the list (some were even in Payson!). And they were saying that you have to have a VERY flexible schedule. The campus was decent. They were saying that their other school in (ohio?) just had a graduating class with a 100% pass rate on the boards. My personal impression is that it could be a very good school but it's ALOT of money, especially when you consider that you are going to be a guinea pig. I don't think it's worth the risk for me. I also don't want to have to deal with high school transcripts and taking another test (if you don't have your SAT's you have to take a TEAS test ) I'm also not that flexible since I have two kids under the age of 7. I just got my name on the waiting list last fall for the MCC's so I think I'll just bide my time and wait it out for the tried and true...
  6. I am going to the open house tonight to check it out. I am definitely feeling cautious about a brand new school. But I want explore every avenue. I'll post any good info I get.
