The LPN program at Concorde is about $24000.00 This includes everything. Shots, books, scrubs, bookbag, instruction, and all the pre-req's are rolled into the course. Plus you'll be IV certified when you graduate. I think they even pay for your first NCLEX. It all takes about 13 months. You have to be ready to really buckle down and give up your extra free time. You'll have time for some important things and MOST? important people in your life...but you won't be cleaning out the garage this spring, I guarantee ya'. I like my teachers so far. They do have a financial aid department that will help you attain student loans. They do almost all the work for you, that is some of what the ones of us that attend are paying for. If you want to wait you can do it lots cheaper...but if you are like me and want to get it strarted now and go to work soon, then this is the place to go! If you go and they ask you who referred you just tell'em MountainMan, and they will just look you confused and have no idea what you are talking about so you'll gain the upper hand.

i have a friend who has become my doctor. I feel a little resistant sometimes but I know his integrity. At a Christmas party he brought up the fact that I was coming due for my prostrate exam. (this was a mixed party but they were all friends) I did not feel the least bit awkward openly discussing it. I let everyone there know that he give the most thorogh exams I have ever had (keep in mind most of the people there were in the medical field). My doctor said that most guys are [explitif deleted] when it comes to exams, compared to women who undergo pevics quite bravely. I know I will get better treatment from him than anywhere else. And I resect him. However unawkward all this is to me and my circle of friends, it does not qualify student to student examinations as ok emotionally. I could do it just fine but i don't like others being puton the spot by it.

There was a divorce case in the early 80"s where a woman who was a stay-at-home mom,won a huge settlement by listing all the jobs she performed(child-care, housecleaning, cooking,etc.). Se started a revolution in divorce settlements. File under- Too cherrished to work!

Dr. MLK jr was a remarkable man...but it is well known that he had a lover other than his wife...and he was a minister. jc;) Yes..I mean NO, he shouln't have had a lover, but we can forgive him for that. But being a minister...now that's unforgivable.

Being required or expected to submit to a state of humility in a class setting does nothing to adjust one into the state of being a sensitive or knowlegable nurse. As others have pointed out, who among us has not had a physical exam already? Knowing how to give a less painfull injection is not learned by unwanted display of ones-self before others. I still don't get the point!

maybe the dummies we should use are the program directors from the schools. I'm sure they would be MOST understanding.

Flat out ask if there is any undressed or semi-undressed examinations between students. Try and get into a school with a good clinical (off-site) program.

This probably means you WOULD make a good nurse. Nursing is about taking care of the whole being. Batman You deffinately want to know before you invest the time and the money.
